Let's Reduce Plastic Use for a Greener Earth

Our recycled fashion dress was created under the theme "Say No to Plastic." Plastic has become a part of daily life, from shopping bags and bottles to packaging and household items. However, while it seems convenient, it has devastating effects on the environment. Plastic takes hundreds of years to decompose, and in the meantime, it pollutes. our land, rivers, and oceans. Many animals mistake it for food, which often leads to injuries, deaths, and even the extinction of species. Microplastics, which come from the breakdown of larger items, are now found in fish, salt, and even drinking water, creating serious risks for humans as well.
Single-use plastics such as disposable bags, cups, bottles, and straws are the most dangerous. They are used for only a few minutes, yet they remain in the environment for centuries. Most people throw these products carelessly instead of disposing of them properly, which worsens the problem.
Our dress design carries the message "Say No to Plastic" because change begins with awareness and daily choices. Using reusable bags, stainless steel bottles, and cloth wraps can greatly reduce plastic waste. Supporting eco-friendly businesses and joining community clean-ups also make a difference.
By showing this dress, we want to spread the idea that the Earth is not disposable. Refusing plastic is not a burden but it is an investment in a cleaner and healthier future. Saying "No" to plastic means saying "Yes" to life, nature, and sustainability. And we joined this competition to prove that sustainable fashion is possible by transforming waste into eco-friendly designs, combining our passion for style with our commitment to the planet.

🌟 Job Opportunity: Secondary Teacher (3 Positions)
📍Location - Myawaddy, Bangkok

Contract: 3-month probationary period, with a 9-month extension. Renewable annually based on performance evaluation.

Salary & Benefits:

- Starting salary: 8,000 THB (increased after successful probation)

- Support for further education for committed and qualified individuals

📚 Responsibilities

Teaching & Learning:

- Teach assigned subjects to Grades 10–12 students

- Provide instruction in additional subjects when needed

- Develop and submit comprehensive lesson plans

- Ensure a safe, engaging, and productive classroom environment

- Deliver personalized instruction to encourage interactive learning

- Assess and record student progress, grade homework, assignments, and exams

- Serve as a role model to inspire students toward higher education

Professional Engagement:

- Participate in teacher training programs

- Organize classroom supplies and manage expense reimbursements

- Undertake additional duties as required

🎓 Position Requirements

Education:

- Bachelor’s degree in teaching or a related field

- Equivalent teaching certification OR GED qualification

- Experience with the GED exam preferred

- Graduation from a migrant learning center is an advantage

Work Experience:

- Prior teaching experience desirable (but open to recent graduates)

- Experience with school/learning center registration is an advantage

Skills & Knowledge:

- Proficiency in teaching methods

- Strong communication skills (oral & written)

- Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

- Organizational and leadership skills

- Basic Thai speaking skills

- Knowledge of Burmese or Karen language is a plus

- Genuine interest in improving the lives of border children

- Passion for alternative education methods

- Self-motivated, resourceful, and collaborative

- Familiarity with the Thailand–Myanmar border context preferred

- Commitment to supporting grassroots organizations

From August 19–22, 2025, some of our Hsa Thoo Lei teachers had the wonderful opportunity to join a Leadership Training provided by Cotton On Foundation. 🌟

This training has empowered our teachers with valuable skills and knowledge to grow as leaders and better serve our students and community.

🦟 Raising Awareness on Dengue Fever 🦟

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to Mae Sot General Hospital for visiting and sharing important knowledge about Dengue Fever with our students. Your time and expertise help keep our community informed and safe.

Special thanks also to Migrant Educational Coordination Center - TAK PESAO 2 for organizing and providing this valuable program to our school and other migrant learning centers.
