📍 Sept 17, 2025 – First Day in Taiwan: Taipei
• 🇹🇼 My very first time in Taiwan!
• Landed early morning at Taoyuan International Airport ✈️
• Good news: Thai citizens don’t need a visa (15 days stay) 🙌
• Immigration form? All online—no paper needed 📲
• Got my EasyCard right at the airport train station 🎫 Super convenient for transport + shopping 🛒
🚆 Airport to Taipei City:
Took the Express Train, only 30 minutes! Fast & smooth.
💱 Money Tips:
The exchange rate is close to Thai Baht. I brought some cash from Thailand, plus topped up a travel card for shopping. Still—always keep some cash in your pocket 😉.
🏨 Hotel Check-in Adventure:
Flight was at 1:30 AM, landed 6:00 AM.
Dropped bags at Green World Hotel Zhonghua (budget-friendly, ~2,000–3,000 THB per night).
Perfect location—right opposite Ximending Pedestrian Area 🎉 (like Siam Square in Bangkok) & next to Ximen MRT 🚇.
☕️ A quick coffee, then time to explore!
🙏 First stop: Longshan Temple (2 MRT stations away).
Paid respects to Guanyin & other deities, plus grabbed some souvenirs 🛍️.
🏮 Next: Bopiliao Historic Block—strolling under the hot sun with umbrellas, surrounded by charming old streets.
🇹🇼 Then: Hopped on MRT to Chiang Kai-shek Memorial Hall + the National Theater & Concert Hall 🎶.
🍴 Lunch Time:
Searched with ChatGPT 😎 and found Hang Zhou Xiao Long Bao near the memorial hall.
Surprise! 🥟 A Michelin-awarded restaurant (many years in a row up to 2024!).
Delicious, affordable, and even has delivery. Totally worth the wait!
☀️ After lunch: braved the crazy hot sun (🔥🔥🔥 like millions of chickens screaming “hot!”). Finally made it back to the hotel, checked in, and passed out for 2 hours 😴.
🌆 Evening:
Woke up at 6 PM—perfect cool weather.
Explored Ximending Pedestrian Area again: lively vibes, street food, shopping, full of young people 👫.
🏛️ Checked in at The Red House: a creative community & design hub right next to Ximending.
🕤 9:30 PM – My legs were dying, knees giving up 😂.
🛏️ 10:00 PM – Back at the hotel, knocked out instantly.
… And that’s Day 1 in Taipei 🌟 Can’t wait for tomorrow’s adventure!
