🌱 Did you know?
Our body has a special system called the Endocannabinoid System (ECS), which naturally produces compounds similar to those found in cannabis. These compounds interact with cannabinoid receptors (CB1 and CB2) and play an important role in maintaining cellular balance.
🧬 Research has shown that cannabinoids – both those produced by our body (endocannabinoids) and those found in cannabis (like THC and CBD) – can trigger apoptosis (programmed cell death) in cancer cells. They can interfere with the cancer cell cycle at multiple stages (G1-S-G2-M), helping to stop cancer cell proliferation.
✨ Key Research Findings:
▪️ Inhibit the growth and division of cancer cells.
▪️ Prevent new blood vessels from forming (angiogenesis), which tumors need to grow.
▪️ Reduce metastasis – the spread of cancer to other organs.
📌 Cannabis with Chemotherapy:
Several studies suggest that cannabinoids may be used alongside chemotherapy to enhance treatment effectiveness and reduce side effects such as nausea, vomiting, and chronic pain.
⚠️ Important Note:
These findings are promising, but they are still under research. Use of cannabis for medical treatment must always be under the supervision of a licensed physician and follow the regulations of your country.
