I have arrived to a place in my life where I believe that our life is the manifestation of our thought forms. We live the life we believe in, our reality which we perceive through life experience, the books we read, the conversation or a comments we had with our loved ones or strangers.
Yesterday I have one new client joining my class. During brief conversation before the class, they told me about their injuries and recent operation. I suggested them to take it slow and be mindful in the class.
During the class of slow movement working on breathing and stabilising, they were struggle and took time off many times which was very beautiful to observe as a teacher. I admire ones who are free to rest, pause the practice to fit their body/pace.
At the end of the practice, they came to me and told me that they won't be joining yoga anymore as it is not for them, they found it very challenging to move. I acknowledged that and I told them that it's absolutely normal to feel at first but I would like her to continue moving, exercises to help with her recovering and maintaining strength. They then told me that Thier doctor told thier so many times that their knee pain won't improve, they will eventually need a wheelchair when they get older. My heart was broken 💔 I found that comment from the doctor was very harsh, taking away their power to make a choice of life they like to live.
I shared with one story of similar situation when a doctor commented or suggested to our family to give up on seeking for a treatment for our granny as she was too old. Luckily we didn't give up and our granny got better after treatments from complementary medicine practitioner.
I strongly believe that conventional medicine is very essential and it has saved so many lives. However one thing that often lacks among the conventional medicine practitioners is wholesomeness or the ability to see the wholesomeness of a person in front of them. You can't treat the bodies and leave the hole in their souls. love
