On the last day of 2025, one number truly mattered: 35,003.

Since June 29, 2023, 35,003 visitors have stepped into our 40-minute Bamboo Shark Nursery workshop , discovering firsthand why sharks matter and how ocean conservation begins with knowledge, curiosity, and connection.

That single number represents more than 23,300 hours of direct, face-to-face environmental education; real people. real conversations. real impact.

On average, 14,000 people every year leave our nursery with a new understanding of sharks and the ocean.

But education is only one part of the story.

Through its ReSharking the Reefs program, Oceans For All Foundation is actively restoring shallow reef ecosystems around Thailand by releasing close to 200 juvenile bamboo sharks back into their natural habitat, in this way, turning learning into measurable, on-the-water impact.

And the ripple continues.

Each visitor shares what they’ve learned with at least two others, meaning our message has likely reached over 100,000 people through conversations at home, sparks of curiosity, and stories carried far beyond the reef.

From a single visit grows a ripple of awareness , spreading across families, communities, and generations.

This is how change begins.
One shark. One story. One person at a time.

And none of this would be possible without an exceptional partner.
Our heartfelt thanks go to JW Marriott Khao Lak Resort & Spa for believing in this vision from day one, for placing conservation at the heart of the guest experience, and for proving that luxury hospitality and meaningful environmental action can - and should - go hand in hand.

By opening its doors to education, curiosity, and purpose, the resort has helped turn a nursery into a platform for lasting change, one visitor at a time.

stay tuned

Ghost Gear

Lost or abandoned fishing gear, known as ghost gear, continues to trap marine life long after it’s discarded. Nets, lines, and traps drift through the ocean, entangling fish, turtles, and even whales. These materials are designed to be durable, and as a result, they can remain active for decades.

What You Can Do
Preventing gear loss, supporting responsible fisheries, and recovering abandoned equipment are some of the most effective ways to reduce this hidden threat.

Ending ghost fishing protects both marine life and livelihoods.

Every year brings new challenges, but also new opportunities to protect marine life, restore coastal ecosystems, and rethink how we interact with our seas. Progress is built through steady action, informed choices, and collective responsibility. Thank you for being part of a community that believes healthier oceans are possible. Here’s to a year of cleaner waters, stronger conservation efforts, and meaningful impact for generations to come.

On 25 December 2025, Oceans For All Foundation and Amanpuri marked their annual ReSharking event with real impact beneath the surface. 🌊🦈

Through our Shark Nursery programme, 21 juvenile bamboo sharks were released into the Andaman Sea, continuing a shared commitment to restoring balance to fragile marine ecosystems. Each release represents years of care, science, and collaboration—proof that long-term partnerships can turn conservation into measurable action.

Stay tuned for more releases, more stories, and more hope for the sea!

When it rains, water flows. Along the way, it collects oil, fertilisers, chemicals, and litter from streets and land before carrying them into rivers and the ocean. This runoff can damage coral reefs, fuel harmful algal blooms, and degrade water quality.
What You Can Do

Simple changes like better waste management, vegetated buffers, and mindful chemical use can dramatically reduce runoff pollution.
Protecting the ocean often starts far from the shoreline.

Wishing our Oceans For All community a Merry Christmas from the coast to the open sea. This time of year is about connection, generosity, and care; values that sit at the heart of ocean conservation efforts.

As we gather with family and friends, the ocean continues its quiet work supporting life across the planet. Thank you for standing with us in protecting it, through awareness, action, and everyday choices.

May the festive season bring calm seas, hopeful horizons, and renewed commitment to caring for our blue planet in the year ahead.

Why Nocturnal Ocean Life Matters

A huge portion of ocean life wakes up after sunset. From bioluminescent plankton to reef predators hunting under starlight, the night shift plays a crucial role in keeping ecosystems in balance.

Artificial coastal lighting, noise, and boat traffic can disrupt these species in ways we rarely see.

What You Can Do
By reducing unnecessary lights, respecting quiet zones, and supporting organisations that protect coastal habitats, we help keep these nighttime ecosystems healthy.

Noise Pollution Beneath the Waves

The ocean is far from silent. Many marine species rely on sound to navigate, find food, communicate, and avoid danger. Increased boat traffic, construction, and sonar disrupt these underwater soundscapes; creating stress and disorientation for marine life. Unlike visible pollution, noise is harder to detect, but its impact is significant.

What You Can Do:
Reducing speed in coastal zones, supporting quieter marine technologies, and protecting sensitive habitats all help restore balance.

A healthier ocean is cleaner and quieter.

A huge thank you to Ragab RABIE, General Manager of Club Med Kani , for the outstanding welcome he gave to our Oceans For All conference 🌊

We’re equally grateful for his initiative in mobilizing his teams to attend, a gesture that clearly shows his genuine commitment to ocean protection.

Congratulations to the entire resort team for their enthusiasm, with a special shout-out to Sharon, the marine biologist whose work within Happy to Care perfectly embodies the environmental spirit Ragab inspires at Kani. Her passion and expertise are a true asset to conservation.

It’s not every day you meet a GM so engaged, sincere, and genuinely motivated (and it makes all the difference!)

Thank you, Ragab, and thank you to your teams, for contributing with such conviction to a bluer future. 💙🌍

And of course, a heartfelt thank you to the Sarcelles dive club, whose initiative made this journey possible.
