Today the clients made their krathongs for the Thai festival of Loi Krathong. This is a regular annual activity for clients and this evening we went to the local village and celebrated with the locals. The local village has a stream running through and the Krathongs were floated down the stream with respectful significance.
We are very fortunate with our location that we are amongst Thais and Thai culture and not amongst the tourists and westerners. We get to experience true Thai community and it’s a honour.

The term “Loy Krathong” is derived from word “loy” – meaning “to float”- and the word “krathong” – which refers to type of small, floating religious offering. True to its name, the highlight of the festival is the floating of krathongs across small and large bodies of water all over the country.
