An exhibition and sale of goods is taking place at the Central Bazaar of Bokhtar, where Tajik and Afghan products are in high demand. OVOP Associations on both sides promote Tajik and Afghan products in local and bordering markets to facilitate cross-border trade. 700 000 $- the total volume of contracts concluded between Afghan and Tajik entrepreneurs, as a result of B2B, which is taking place in Bokhtar, Khatlon oblast within the framework of the LITACA project, funded by Japan - The Government of Japan JICA Tajikistan Office / タジキスタン / Таджикистан / Тоҷикистон. Mr. Rajabali Rajabov, Deputy Chairman of Khatlon oblast, Mr. Tojidin Jurazoda, Deputy Minister of economic development and trade, Mr. Dost Mohammad Raihan, Director of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of Kunduz Province made opening speech end highlighted the important role of cross-border cooperation and trade promotion in socio-economic development of both countries.

"9 OVOP Complexes are technically surveyed, designed, now under the procurement stage. Implementation is expected to start in 4th quarter of the year 2019 will create long term employment to over 4,500 male and female in 4 provinces. "In Tajikistan for the reporting period 20 small grants (OVOP linked) provided targeting 8 target districts to 20 public organizations (11 women led, 9 men led). As a result 226 permanent jobs were created; 1,008 people received business development training and 123 people attended vocational training (target 135)" - reported Ruslan Ziganshin, LITACA Tajikistan Project Manager. Dushanbe, 17th October 2019– 4th Steering Committee Meeting of LITACA II Project gathered representatives of the Ministry of Rural Rehabilitation and Development of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, Ministry of Economic Development and Trade of the Republic of Tajikistan, JICA Afghanistan and Tajikistan and UNDP representatives from both countries.

LITACA project managers reported on implementation of recommendations of the 3rd Steering Committee and presented progress updates according to the 2019 Annual Work Plan.
