Meet Agatha: "I started to suspect autism in daughter, Agatha, around 18 months, because she had stopped acquiring skills and the ones she already had, she had lost. I already had some experience with autistic children, as I was a teacher in Brazil, so I started to research and find out more about the possibility and, together with the fact that we already have cases in the family (we know that it is genetic), I went looking for help. If it wasn't autism, at least we would be stimulating developmental delays through therapies. Until she was three years old, she was with 'Birth to three' where we had a wonderful experience and through them we got her diagnosis at 23 months. Agatha is now in special school and doing very well. She is a calm, sweet, intelligent and also funny child. The love of our lives. Autism is not the end but a new beginning. Many things have changed in our family, but we have certainly discovered the purpose of being here and living this journey together."

Meet Mika: "At Mika’s 18 month appointment I brought a few concerns to his pediatrician, I could see in her face that she had the same concerns. I looked her straight in the eyes and asked 'do you think he has autism?' I will never forget that day! I knew I had to act quick I had to fight for him for his best opportunities. I had to put aside my heartbreak and fight! That I did. I pushed back, got in-person services, covid making early intervention very hard. I spent countless hours researching I found an amazing program at UCLA where we moved and went for 3 months. I never looked back on what I thought my child was 'supposed' to be, I just looked forward to what he was becoming. Fast forward almost 2 years and this beautiful, charismatic , intelligent boy is rocking preschool, ABA , and speech, everyday he impresses me - everyday day! He loves people, hugs, tickles, swimming, jumping running, laughing, dancing and singing. He works so hard to do what comes natural for others. He is the most amazing boy!
What I hope to communicate with other parents is acceptance is the 1st step. Pick yourself up Accept embrace and fight for what they need and never look back.
P.S. every single parent out there if I can do it you can do it!"

The ears as we know are the ones responsible for hearing and balance.

These are the 3 important functions of the ear:

1️⃣ Balance
The vestibular system is a part of the inner ear which controls posture and the maintenance of balance - our vestibular system. The vestibular system is a core integration to the entire central nervous system.

2️⃣ Revitalization of Cortical Charge
When the ears are stimulated there will be natural energy charge to the entire cortex.
High frequency energy creates arousal and readiness to learn.
Low frequency energy impacts on the ability to calm in a sustained way so the mind and body can be at rest. And lastly…

3️⃣ Listening
When this function is disrupted, difficulties in analysis, accommodation, spacialization or auditory lateralization are caused. The person experiences an influx of information, but perceives it in a distorted manner affecting comprehension, as well as impacting verbal expression.

The long and short of it – the ears are essential for communication, learning, managing emotions, and many more. It may not be appreciated that much but it has a great impact on our quality of life.

Many do not realize its importance so don’t hesitate to share this knowledge to others.
