Orbital complications occur in 3% of patients with rhinosinusitis. Especially when it comes to sphenoethmoidal sinusitis and its complications, the patient should be immediately hospitalized, started on broad-spectrum parenteral antibiotics, and if the symptoms do not improve, surgical drainage should be applied.
As soon as we detected orbital complications (preseptal and orbital cellulitis) in our patient, we hospitalized him, performed endoscopic sinus surgery, and started IV antibiotic therapy. On the third postoperative day, the patient’s condition had completely improved.
