Operatör Doktor Meral Sönmezer, 1974 yılında Ankara’ da doğdu. İlk ve orta öğrenimini TED Ankara Kolejinde tamamladıktan sonra 1991 yılında, Ankara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesini kazanarak yıllar sürecek doktorluk serüvenine ilk adımını attı. 1997 yılında fakülteden başarıyla mezun olarak TUS’ ta ilk tercihi olan SSK Etlik Doğumevi ve Kadın Hastalıkları Hastanesinde ihtisasına başladı. Yılda 20 bin civarında doğum ve binlerce ameliyatın gerçekleştiği bir hastanede bir asistanın görebileceği her türlü vakayı görme imkanı oldu. 2002 yılında ihtisasını tamamlayarak yine aynı hastanede eğitim ve araştırma görevlisi olarak, asistan eğitimi vermeye ve bilimsel araştırmalar yapmaya devam etti. Bu süre zarfında perinatoloji, infertilite, ürojinekoloji ve jinekoloji bölümlerinde görev yaptı. 2009 yılında başasistanlık görevinden istifa ederek Ankara Özel Güven Hastanesinde çalışmaya başladı. Takip eden yıllarda Özel Bayındır Hastanesi ve Özel 100. Yıl Hastanesiyle çalışma hayatına yeni deneyimler ekledi. 2014 yılında gönüllü olarak Güneydoğu Anadolu bölgemize giden doktorumuz sırasıyla, Cizre, Kızıltepe ve Mardin’ de görev yaptı. 2 yıl kadar Güneydoğu’da hizmet verdikten sonra memleketi olan Ankara’ ya dönüş yaptı.

Ulusal ve uluslararası çok sayıda makale ve poster sunumu mevcuttur. Perinatal ultrasonografi, cinsel terapi, ge***al estetik cerrahi, laparoskopik ve histeroskopik cerrahi sertifikalarına sahip olan Sönmezer, özellikle perinatoloji, riskli gebelik, vajinismus tedavisi , va**nal estetik cerrahi, miyom ve kist operasyonları, idrar kaçırma ameliyatları ve infertilite konularında uzmanlaşmıştır.
