IPHAIDS's MISSION
Our mission is to serve communities in need through the provision of sustainable medical support and public health based development programmes worldwide. The International Public Health Aid Development Society (IPHAIDS) is a non-government organization for public health in Turkey and works to promote the health and well-being of all people around the world especially Africans. The Association seeks better population health outcomes based on HIV/AIDS prevention & interventions, capacity building through youth empowerment and equity principles.
1.1.2. OUR BEGINNINGS
Our vision is a world in which all people, regardless of race, religion and nationality, live in environments that support them to have good health and well-being, and have the means as well as ability, to secure good quality healthcare for themselves, their families and communities especially in terms of HIV prevention. Having witnessed the impact of HIV/AIDS especially in Sub Sahara Africa, the need for capacity building and service improvement for efficient VMMC scale up programs in Africa was one of our major causes to start-up to linking the service providers in Turkey and related parties in Africa to assist the most affected African countries from the deep impact of the HIV/AIDS pandemic. There is also a lack of required skilled personnel to run massive VMMC programs as a mitigating solution to the problem. We are aiming to undertake projects across Africa with a simple goal; to help local communities to develop, build and sustain health services such as VMMC clinics and centers. Key roles of the organization include capacity building, the development of policy, mobilization and implementation of tailor-made VMMC campaigns.
1.1.3. We are an independent NGO, funded entirely by private donations. We are not a faith organization and do not have any political affiliations. However, we do recognize the importance of cultural, religious and universal humanitarian values. By linking medical expertise with cultural knowledge and values, we can help build their medical capacity, empower local communities, and produce effective solutions that will leave a lasting legacy long after we have gone. We are passionate about development work and whilst responding to emergency situations is important, we realize that sustainability comes about by being committed to health care and prevention for local communities with a long term vision. Our cultural approach allows us to understand how things get done locally. We avoid corruption and do our best to ensure that donor funds are spent transparently and wisely. We are committed to informing our donors where their funds have been spent. Our expertise in creative solutions and experience in healthcare means we will come up with ideas and projects that are simple and cost effective. We don’t hand out medical equipment to locals, take pictures and then leave them to it. As an NGO, we deliver and implement where it matters.
