Sharing Surgical Skills
Incision Academy (www.incision.care), was founded in 2014, and strives to become the worldwide standard for surgical learning. The Incision platform offers a unique environment for the exchange and improvement of surgical knowledge. The academy offers value at any level: for residents and experienced surgeons alike, including basic surgical knowledge aiming at interns and scrub nurses.
Incision Academy has been fully accredited by the Royal College of Surgeons of England and is endorsed by (amongst others) the European Society for Surgical Oncology. The Incision portfolio consists of over 300 procedures (November 2018) and is constantly increasing.
Incision has created a platform of filmed procedures, shot from the surgeon’s point of view in 2D and 3D, in which specialists share their knowledge, experiences, skills and expertise. By working with expert medical doctors, surgeons and editors, Incision Academy provides a broad portfolio of high-quality surgical procedures. A course ends with questions to track knowledge levels, supporting curricula or self-learning. Certificates can be generated.
Authoritative sources, including guidelines issued by international societies, are used to develop all Incision productions; with leading surgeons consulted throughout the production process. Our expertly-edited videos, with their clear step-by-step approach, anatomic inlays and our own 3D anatomical models, highlight all the essential steps in surgery. Augmented and Virtual Reality applications will also join Incision’s range of services in the near future (launch portfolio in Q1 2019).
