Eight departments were established under the Division of Clinical Dentistry of the Faculty which contains divisions of Fundamental and Clinical Dentisry. These are; Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Radiology, Department of Restorative Dentistry, Department of Endodontics, Department of Orthodontics, Department of Pediatric Dentistry, Department of Periodontology and Department of Prosthodontics. As of 2011, the faculty initiated serving of clinical healthcare. The very first students of the faculty were accepted for the program of degree in dentistry in 2012-2013 academic year. Endeavours of forming a mutual PhD program in effort of carrying out graduate degree PhD programs are still being conducted. Akdeniz University Faculty of Dentistry has the ambition of being a reference healthcare center for not only the region of mediterrenian but also for surrounding regions and countries. As Akdeniz University Faculty of Dentistry, our mission is delivering a world class dental education in all fields of dentistry in order to train dentists who are; up to date, progressive, modernist, of scientific understanding , inquisitive, of high self confidence, at peace with him/herself, of free thoughts, in affection of his/her profession, ethical and adherent to academic values. Accordingly, to provide our students with all essential professional knowledge and competences, our patients are given a dental care of high quality in our clinics equipped with modern instruments. Together with above mentioned objectives, our mission is being a nationally and internationally recognized and leader dental faculty in search of perfection in both education and healthcare with leading numbers of scientific researches.
