Bartholin Cyst Surgery
The Bartholin glands are small glands located on both sides of the vaginal opening and are responsible for providing lubrication. When the ducts of these glands become blocked, a Bartholin cyst may develop. If the cyst becomes infected, it can turn into a Bartholin abscess, causing severe pain, swelling, and discomfort while sitting or walking.
In some patients, Bartholin cysts may become recurrent, requiring multiple surgical interventions. In such cases, choosing the correct surgical technique and having an experienced surgeon are extremely important.
Today, we performed emergency surgery for a patient with a recurrent Bartholin cyst who had previously undergone eight operations. Appropriate surgical techniques were applied to reduce the risk of recurrence.
Accurate diagnosis and proper surgical management are key to the effective treatment of recurrent Bartholin cysts.
