Tear duct obstruction can cause complaints such as excessive tearing, burring, redness on the eyelids and the white part of the eye, swelling of the eyelids, painful swelling near the root of the nose and the inner corner of the eye, blurred vision, sticky discharge in and around the eye.
Failure of the tear ducts to fulfill their function prepares the ground for the proliferation of germs. For this reason, tear duct obstruction can cause frequent recurrence of eye and tear duct inflammations.
