Wacocell Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose Puffy type Haemostat
WACOCELL® PUFFY Absorbable Haemostat is made of a structured non-woven fabric, needle punched with interlocking fibers. This provides ease-of-use in both open and minimally invasive procedures, without sticking to instruments. WACOCELL® PUFFY also has a microfibrillar structure, which gives it a greater surface area. This means that WACOCELL® PUFFY delivers imroved speed, handling, overall performace and improved time-to-hemostasis. WACOCELL® PUFFY increases surface contact with the bleeding site. It also has an ability to reposition.

Wacocell Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose Layer type Haemostat
WACOCELL® LAYER Absorbable Haemostat is made of a fibrous form of ORC. This makes it conformable and provides optimal tissue adherence. WACOCELL® LAYER also has a microfibrillar structure, which gives it a greater surface area. This means that WACOCELL® LAYER can achieve haemostasis faster than WACOCELL ® Standard.

In addition, the seven-layer microfibrillar structure of WACOCELL® LAYER makes it the most versatile member of the WACOCELL® family of products. The seven layers of WACOCELL® LAYER can be peeled off and torn into strips, layers, tufts, rolls, or pads; and this makes it the perfect fit for many different wound management needs. In fact WACOCELL® LAYER will adhere perfectly to the wound site, even in difficult-to-reach places and against gravity.

WACOCELL® LAYER can conform even more effectively than WACOCELL® Standard. This makes WACOCELL® LAYER perfect for irregular surfaces (such as tumour beds), areas particularly affected by gravitational forces (such as those beneath parenchymatous organs), and for hard- to-reach areas (such as those around capillary anastomoses, sinus cavities or the epidural space).

WACOCELL® LAYER is also suitable for use with electrocautery, and when WACOCELL® LAYER is used in layers it will immediately absorb any bleeding, so providing the surgeon with enhanced visibility of the wound site.

WACOCELL® LAYER ‘melts’ into bleeding tissue, but it can still be easily removed when required. The surgeon can also avoid product wastage by peeling off and using as much or as little WACOCELL® LAYER as is needed.

Absorbable Haemostat- Wacocell Oxidised Regenerated Cellulose Knitting Type Haemostat
WACOCELL® Knitting Absorbable Haemostat is knit woven in a higher density and stronger weave than WACOCELL® Standard. This gives WACOCELL® Knitting enhanced haemostatic capabilities, making WACOCELL® Knitting into an even faster acting haemostat that can achieve haemostasis faster than WACOCELL® Standard.

WACOCELL® Knitting is also three times as thick as WACOCELL® Standard, which gives WACOCELL® Knitting a greater strength and coverage for heavier bleeding. This greater strength makes WACOCELL® Knitting the ideal haemostat to use in trauma, laparoscopic surgery, sternotomies, solid organ surgery, and in any procedure where the site requires wrapping. WACOCELL® Knitting can be also sutured in place to provide additional suture support.

WACOCELL® Knitting is also an excellent choice of haemostat for trauma wounds, and can even be rolled up and inserted into a narrow injury such as a puncture wound. WACOCELL® Knitting can hold a suture and its higher-density material also maintains its structural integrity during surgery. WACOCELL® Knitting is preferred by many surgeons for laparoscopic procedures and, if a minimally invasive operation requires the use of an absorbable haemostasis product, WACOCELL® Knitting can be introduced through a trocar.

Absorbable Haemostat - Wacocell Ozidised Regenerated Cellulose Standard type Haemostat
WACOCELL ® Standard Absorbable Haemostat is an ideal product for predictable haemostasis.

WACOCELL ® Standard is constructed as a loose-knit fabric mesh that can easily be trimmed to custom size without fraying or unravelling.This means that WACOCELL ® Standard can be used in almost any surgical procedure to assist in the control of blood loss. WACOCELL ® Standard can also be used in conjunction with electrocautery and will not tear apart when passed through a trocar. WACOCELL ® Standard does not require mixing or reconstitution and it can be placed directly onto a bleeding wound site. It is used dry and does not stick to gloves or instruments. Once haemostasis is achieved, excess WACOCELL ® Standard can be easily removed from the operation site, while any WACOCELL ® remaining in the wound will absorb completely within two weeks of use.

The unique homogeneity of the fibres in WACOCELL ® Standard are a result of the optimal regeneration and controlled oxidation processes. This unique fibre homogeneity helps give WACOCELL ® Standard its superior handling characteristics and enables the sheer weave of WACOCELL ® Standard to conform and adhere well to irregular surfaces and crevices.

The flexible, open weave of WACOCELL ® Standard also allows visualisation of the bleeding site, which can improve a surgeon’s ability to optimise surgical technique.
