In facial rejuvenation, it has been emphasized more and more in recent years that every component of the treatment matters—and that a holistic approach is essential.

From my daily clinical experience, I can say this clearly: even if an excellent midface and upper face lift is performed, patients are very likely to feel dissatisfied if a well-defined neck and jawline are not achieved.

For a truly harmonious side profile, a well-executed deep neck procedure is essential.
When this is properly addressed, patient happiness and satisfaction increase significantly.

This weekend, we successfully held the 5th Fabcast Facelift Cadaver Course at Ege University Faculty of Medicine in İzmir. It was a great honor to come together with plastic surgeon colleagues from both national and international communities.

As an instructor and a member of the Fabcast Faculty, I had the opportunity to perform a deep neck dissection together with my dear friend .mehmetcomert and share my experience with the participants.

I would also like to sincerely thank the course organizers, .mehmetgencer and .emreguvercin , for organizing such an outstanding event. As always, I am grateful to and for their continuous support.

The before and after results you see in this patient actually summarize the evolution of facial rejuvenation surgery over the last decade.

In the past, facial rejuvenation procedures were mostly designed for older patients and focused mainly on tightening the superficial tissues. Today, modern facial rejuvenation surgery is much more than that.

Regardless of age, the goal is to analyze the face as a whole and treat each layer when necessary — sometimes lifting, sometimes reducing, sometimes adding volume, sometimes shortening or lengthening specific areas.

These personalized, combined procedures allow us to achieve natural rejuvenation while revealing the patient’s existing beauty rather than changing their identity.

For this patient, a combination of deep neck reduction, deep plane facelift, endoscopic brow lift, buccal fat removal, upper and lower blepharoplasty, facial fat grafting, and lip lift was performed.

The goal was not to create a different person, but to ensure that this young patient’s face, spirit, and energy are in harmony with each other.

In aesthetic facial surgery, there are several key factors that determine the final result. One is the surgeon’s technique, another is the patient’s expectations, and the last is the patient’s underlying skeletal structure.

For this patient, who had high-definition expectations, the bone structure was also suitable, so the combined surgical procedures resulted in an outcome that made both the patient and the surgeon happy. The procedures performed included a deep plane facelift, deep neck lift, brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, buccal fat removal, fat injection, and a lip lift.

As always, the goal was to achieve a natural rejuvenation that is harmonious with the face. The result successfully met the expectations.

In facial aesthetic surgery, planning should always be individualized for each patient. Although the goal for every patient is to achieve natural rejuvenation and more refined facial features, the approach differs depending on the individual. Younger and older patients require different strategies; patients with more pronounced wrinkles, a heavier or shorter neck, or less developed bone structure also need tailored techniques.

Similarly, when there are structural deficiencies in different areas of the face, specific procedures are combined and customized to reach the same common goal.

In this lovely patient, the main concerns were diffuse facial wrinkles and deformity in the neck area. The wrinkles were present across the entire face.

Through a combination of deep plane facelift, deep neck lift, brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, lip lift, and fat grafting, we were able to achieve our shared goal: a natural and refreshed rejuvenation.

Barcelona’da, Katalan Plastik Cerrahi Derneği (SCCRPE) tarafından düzenlenen toplantıda “Derin Plan Yüz Germe” ve “Derin Boyun Cerrahisi” konularında iki sunum gerçekleştirdim.

Avrupa’daki meslektaşlarımızla son dönemde büyük ilgi gören yüz estetiği üzerine fikir alışverişinde bulunduk. Türkiye’de bu alanda uyguladığımız ileri düzey cerrahi teknikleri paylaşma fırsatı buldum. Çok verimli ve keyifli bir bilimsel buluşma oldu; hem paylaştık hem de çok şey öğrendik.

Başta değerli dostum ve dernek başkanı olmak üzere, Katalan, İspanyol ve diğer Avrupalı tüm meslektaşlarıma teşekkür ederim.

Barcelona’da kendimi adeta evimde hissettim. Onurlu, ilkeli ve samimi Katalan ve İspanyol dostlarımıza misafirperverlikleri için ayrıca teşekkür ederim.

I had the pleasure of giving two presentations in Barcelona at the meeting organized by the Catalan Society of Plastic Surgery (SCCRPE), focusing on Deep Plane Facelift and Deep Neck Surgery.

We had valuable discussions with colleagues from across Europe about the “face aesthetics” concept, which has been gaining significant attention recently. It was a great opportunity to exchange ideas and share the advanced surgical techniques we are applying in Turkey. It was truly a productive and inspiring scientific meeting—we shared knowledge and learned a lot from each other.

My sincere thanks to my dear friend , the society president , and all Catalan, Spanish, and European colleagues for their warm welcome.

This beautiful and relatively young patient of mine came from Norway. She felt that her face looked saggy and tired compared to her body and spirit, and she wanted a fresher, more youthful appearance.

Even though she is not at an advanced age, we decided to proceed with a Deep Plane facelift, deep neck lift, temporal lift, and lip lift based on the right indication and careful planning.

Seeing the natural and balanced result after surgery made both of us very happy. She told me that choosing to have this surgery with me was one of the best decisions of her life.

Yüz gençleştirmede komplikasyonlar konulu bu değerli toplantı, yüz estetiğiyle ilgilenen çok güçlü bir fakülte ve 350’yi aşkın katılımcı ile beklentimizin de üzerinde gerçekleşti.

Bu organizasyonu sevgili dostum .mehmetcomert ile birlikte yapmaktan büyük onur duydum. Ayrıca derin boyun germede komplikasyonlar ile ilgili tecrübelerimi paylaştım.

We successfully held the first scientific event of the 2026 Schedule of the 100% Plastic Surgery Meetings yesterday at Medipol University School of Medicine.
Our session on complications in facial rejuvenation exceeded our expectations, with a highly accomplished faculty and more than 350 participants interested in facial aesthetics.

It was a great honor to organize this event together with my dear colleague .mehmetcomert. I also shared my experience regarding complications in deep neck lift surgery.

As the family, we will continue our scientific contributions this year with new courses and upcoming meetings.

In facial surgery, contrary to what many believe, it’s rarely just about lifting or tightening alone. While lifting can certainly be part of the procedure, some areas require tissue reduction, others require tissue augmentation, and some need reshaping. In many surgeries, several of these techniques are combined to achieve the most natural and harmonious result.

This lovely patient underwent deep plane facelift, deep neck lift, brow lift, upper and lower blepharoplasty, and buccal fat removal four months ago, all performed by me.

I believe this transformation perfectly reflects what many patients truly desire when they say, “I don’t want my expression to change. I want to look like myself—just younger, fresher, and more revitalized.”

The purpose of sharing this case is to explain why I do what I do — and to define the ideal patient profile for facelift surgery.

In this patient, facial aging was significantly more advanced than her biological age. She had a clear understanding of the process and accepted all recommended procedures, which was essential in achieving an optimal outcome.

A deep plane facelift and deep neck lift were performed, along with a brow lift, lip lift, and lower eyelid surgery. Thanks to her ideal physical condition and strong psychological readiness, even in the early postoperative period she demonstrates minimal scarring and a rejuvenated, natural, and harmonious facial appearance.

Her recovery was exceptionally smooth. She remained highly compliant, maintained close communication throughout the postoperative period, mobilized early, and strictly followed all dietary recommendations and postoperative care protocols, including scar management and measures to reduce swelling and bruising.

Successful facial rejuvenation is never the result of surgery alone — it is the combination of proper patient selection, precise surgical technique, and an engaged patient.
