İstanbul Üniversitesine bağlı “İstanbul Üniversitesi Göz Hastalıkları Araştırma ve Uygulama Merkezi”nin kuruluşunda önemli rol alan ve bu merkezin kuruluşundan (1989), kapatılmasına kadar (2002) geçen dönemde Merkezin “Müdür Yardımcılığı” görevini yerine getiren İ.Ü. Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi Göz Hastalıkları Anabilim Dalı öğretim üyelerinden Prof.Dr.Murat Karaçorlu 2000’li yılların başında Anabili

m Dalındaki görevinden istifa etmiş ve Doç.Dr.Serra Arf ile birlikte Ticaret Odasına bağlı “İstanbul Retina Ensititüsü Özel Sağlık Hizmetleri Limited Şirketini” kurmuştur. Bu yeni kuruluşun amacı, başta retina, makula ve vitreus hastalıkları olmak üzere göz hastalıkları konusunda klinik çalışmalar, araştırmalar yapmak ve doktora sonrası eğitim vermektir. Kuruluşundan bu yana planlanan tüm bu çalışmaları başarı ile yapan klinik, çok sayıda göz hekimine alanında eğitim vermiştir. Klinik araştırma konusunda da üretken olan İstanbul Retina Enstitüsü Şti., SCI (Science Sitation Index) giren dergilerde her yıl önemli sayıda araştırma yayınlamakta ve çok sayıda sitasyon almaktadır.

Çalışmalarını başarı ile sürdüren klinik , Türk ve bölge tıbbına hizmet etmeye devam edecektir.

The pre- and post-operative images of the patient we operated on with a diagnosis of epiretinal membrane. The patient’s pre-operative visual acuity was at the level of counting fingers from 1 meter. By the 4th month after surgery, visual acuity improved to 3/10. A very good result was achieved both anatomically and functionally.

Macular branch retinal artery occlusion of the left eye macula. The retina in the posterior pole appears edematous and pale due to branch retinal artery occlusion. In the affected area of the posterior pole, color changes are observed in the multicolor image, and hypofluorescence is seen in the fundus autofluorescence image. In the SD-OCT image, increased hyperreflectivity due to acute ischemia is observed in the inner retinal layer at the foveal section.

Bilateral chorioretinal coloboma

Coloboma involving the optic nerve, retina and choroid in the typical inferonasal quadrants. In this patient, vision in the right eye is preserved because the foveal area is intact. However, vision in the left eye is significantly reduced.
