Meet Neşe Karabekir!

Individual and Group Therapist / Psychodrama Therapist and Trainer /Birth Psychotherapist / Birth with No Regret Educator / Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator / Active Birth Educator / HypnoBirthing Educator.

She is one of the founders of Istanbul Psychodrama Institute (1996), Istanbul Birth Academy (2010) and the Birth With No Regret Birth Team (2010) She is currently the president of the Hand to Hand for Birth Association, Vice president of ISPPM and being in the executive board for Prenatal Alliance She is also representing ICI international childbirth initiation) in Turkey. She has been working as an individual and group therapist for 30 years in Istanbul (being a lecturer in national and international conferences). She and her partner Dr. Hakan Çoker have established Birth with no Regret Birth Education and Birth Team (Doctor, Midwife, Birth Psychologist) in 2010. Her vision and life aim is to support not only women and men in pre/ perinatal/post-partum period but also to support birth teams and birth workers. Her main focus is also to make the world in a better place by respecting babies in the womb. She is a member of APPPAH, ISPPM, ENCA (European Network of Childbirth Association), EDN (European Doula Network), Fepto (Federation of Psychodrama Training Organisation), EAP (European Association of Psychotherapy). She is the one who participates in all births with her team to support the parent and the team during the labour. She teaches birth psychotherapy to psychologists & counsellors. She has written articles and book chapters. Recently, she has been awarded the 2019 Educator Award for APPPAH.

Meet Cherionna Menzam-Sills!

Cherionna Menzam-Sills has been a somatic psychotherapist and prenatal and birth therapist since the 90s. She is also a Biodynamic Craniosacral therapist and teacher and has her PhD in Pre- and
Perinatal Psychology. She has studied and worked extensively with pioneering leaders in the field, Drs. William Emerson and Ray Castellino, and has taught graduate students in Somatic Psychology and Prenatal and Birth Psychology at Naropa University and the Santa Barbara Graduate Institute in the USA, as well being senior tutor at Karuna Institute in the UK.

She is also informed by additional training and experience in occupational therapy, Body-Mind Psychotherapy, authentic movement, Vipassana mediation and many forms of bodywork and massage.

Authorised by founder Emilie Conrad in 2007 to teach Continuum, she teaches this mindful movement practice, which facilitates moving beyond conditioned form by accessing deeper embryological potential and fluidity.

She has authored two books, Spirit into Form: Exploring Embryological Potential and Prenatal
Psychology, and The Breath of Life: An Introduction to Craniosacral Biodynamics, as well contributing
chapters to Womb to Thrive: The Missing Keys to Heal Yourself, Your Family and the Planet.

Matthew Appleton MA UCKP RCST is a registered Body Psychotherapist and Craniosacral Therapist living and working in Bristol, England. He a member of the International Society of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine and has more than 20 years experience of lecturing, facilitating workshops and training practitioners in working therapeutically with babies, children, and their parents.

For ten years he worked as a houseparent at A.S. Neill’s famous democratic school Summerhill. He is the author of more than a hundred published articles, on subjects ranging from democratic education, sexuality, psychotherapy, craniosacral therapy and the effects of pre and perinatal stress on babies and children.

He has also written two books;
A Free-Range Childhood. Self-Regulation at Summerhill School (2000) and Transitions to Wholeness. Integrating Prenatal, Transpersonal and Somatic Psychology (2020). The former has been published in German as Kindern ihre Kindheit zurückgeben. Selbsregulation in der Erziehung – das Beispiel Summerhill (2nd Edition 2021).

Klaus Evertz, lecturer, works as psycho-, art- and body therapist in own office and Center for Palliative Medicine, University Hospital Cologne. He is a painter and cultural psychologist. He has done extensive research in Images as Forms of Consciousness. Lectureships at the Universities Cologne and Dresden, the University for Environment and Economy (Depart. Art Therapy) Nuertingen and the Dr.Mildred-Scheel-Academy, Cologne. His main work is a design of a “Prenatal Aesthetic“ in “Kunstanalyse (Art Analysis)” (2002).

His pioneering research on pre- and perinatal traumaand transgenerational trauma has potential applications for psycho-, art- and body therapists helping to identify the effects of these trauma on mental health and behaviour.

Since 1997, he has been a Member of the Advisory Board of the “International Journal of Peri- and Prenatal Psychology and Medicine“, since 2007 Member of the Board of Associate Editors. He is Past-vice-president of the International Society for Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Medicine (ISPPM).
