If you're planning to get a hair transplant in Turkey, the recommended stay is typically 5 to 7 days. This allows enough time for the procedure itself, initial recovery, and necessary follow-up checks.
Day 1: Arrival in Turkey. Most clinics offer airport pickup and hotel transfers. On this day, you’ll usually have a consultation with the doctor to finalize the hairline design and number of grafts needed.
Day 2: Surgery day. The procedure can take 6–8 hours, depending on the number of grafts (typically 2,000–4,000). It’s usually done under local anesthesia, and you can go back to your hotel afterward.
Day 3: Post-op check. The clinic will clean your scalp, check for any swelling or bleeding, and provide instructions on how to wash your hair and care for the transplant area.
Days 4–6: Recovery. Most people rest, explore a bit locally, and let their scalp heal. Redness and swelling are normal during this time.
Day 7: Final check-up. The clinic ensures that healing is progressing well and that no complications have arisen. You’re usually cleared to fly back home after this.
Some people fly home after just 3–4 days, but staying 7 days offers a safer recovery window and better support.
