BBL (Brazilian Butt Lift) is widely known as one of the most high-risk procedures in plastic surgery—and that’s not without reason.

While the goal is to achieve a fuller, more contoured silhouette, the technique itself requires extreme precision and deep anatomical knowledge. Injecting fat into the wrong plane—especially into or beneath the muscle—can lead to fat embolism, a life-threatening complication where fat enters the bloodstream and travels to vital organs.

The pressure to deliver dramatic results can sometimes push the limits of safety. More fat doesn’t always mean better results—and in some cases, it can significantly increase the risk.

This is why patient selection, surgical technique, and respecting anatomical boundaries are everything. Safe outcomes are not about exaggeration, but about balance, control, and expertise.

Aesthetic goals should never come at the cost of safety.
