After the procedure, patients usually stay in the hospital for one night and can return to their daily routines and work within 1–2 weeks.🙌🏻

However, full recovery requires a bit more patience, it may take 6 to 12 months for swelling to subside completely and for the nose to take its final shape.👃🏻

“Can I wear glasses after rhinoplasty?”🤔

Yes, you can. During the first week after surgery, the special cast placed on your nose is strong enough to support your glasses comfortably.🙌🏻

Once the cast is removed, you can continue wearing your glasses safely for up to 8 weeks by padding the same area with cotton for support.

After the eighth week, you’re free to wear your glasses as you wish, as long as they’re not too heavy.👓

One of the most common questions I receive from my patients during the summer months is:👃🏻

“Doctor, can I go swimming in the sea after rhinoplasty? Is there any risk in sunbathing?”🌊

Since the nasal tissue has not yet fully healed after rhinoplasty, direct exposure to sunlight, especially during the first few weeks, can cause bruising and swelling to increase or permanent skin discoloration.📌

Similarly, early contact with environments such as the sea and swimming pools can increase the risk of infection.

In general, it is necessary to avoid the sea, swimming pools, and prolonged sunbathing for 4-6 weeks after surgery.🌞

If you go outside, you must use high-factor sunscreen and wear a hat.

Seasonal allergies can cause more than just a runny nose and sneezing.👃🏻

Allergy-related swelling and inflammation of the nasal tissues (i.e., allergic rhinitis) can also affect the sinuses.🙌🏻

This is because the tissues that line the inside of the nose and sinuses are structurally similar.

If left untreated, allergic conditions can affect the sinuses and pave the way for sinusitis.📌
