Videoda, solunum terapisi öncesi nefes darlığı, panik atak benzeri hisler ve nefes kontrolü zayıf olan hastamızın; doğru tekniklerle yapılan solunum terapisi sonrası nasıl belirgin bir rahatlama yaşadığını görebilirsiniz. Geçtiğimiz ay Hürriyet gazetesinin sağlık ekine verdiğim röportajda ses teli granülomu hakkında konuştuk.

Röportajı özetleyecek olursam:

Ses teli granülomu, genellikle sesi yanlış ya da fazla kullanmaya, mide asidinin boğaza gelmesine (reflü) veya uzun süren öksürüğe bağlı olarak ortaya çıkan, kanser olmayan bir ses teli problemidir.
Boğazda takılma hissi, ses kısıklığı ve konuşurken çabuk yorulma gibi şikâyetlere yol açabilir.

Çoğu hastada doğru ses kullanımı, ses terapisi ve reflü tedavisi ile ameliyata gerek kalmadan iyileşme mümkündür.
Tedaviye direnç varsa cerrahi tercih edilir ve ses tellerine botox enjeksiyonu cerrahi tedavide mutlaka uygulanmaktadır.

🇬🇧 Last month, I gave an interview to the Hürriyet Newspaper, where we discussed vocal fold granuloma.

To briefly summarize the interview:

Vocal fold granuloma is a benign (non-cancerous) condition that usually develops due to improper or excessive voice use, gastric acid reflux reaching the throat, or prolonged coughing.
It may cause symptoms such as a foreign body sensation in the throat, hoarseness, and rapid vocal fatigue while speaking.

In most patients, recovery can be achieved without surgery through proper voice use, voice therapy, and reflux treatment.
If the condition is resistant to treatment, surgery is preferred, and botulinum toxin injection to the vocal folds is routinely applied as part of the surgical treatment.

🇬🇧 As the weather gets colder, upper respiratory tract infections become more common — and one of the most noticeable effects is hoarseness.

In my interview with Hürriyet Newspaper’s health section last month, I highlighted the key points to pay attention to:

• Avoid unnecessary use of menthol lozenges, as they can irritate the vocal cords.
• Drink plenty of water and reduce smoking and alcohol consumption during this period.
• Rest your voice and avoid straining it.
• If hoarseness persists for more than 2 weeks, consult an ENT and voice specialist.

Because prolonged hoarseness
may be a sign of more serious conditions.

Your voice is the most powerful part of your communication.
Take good care of it.
