2000 yılında Kabataş Erkek Lisesi'ni, 2007 yılında Marmara Üniversitesi Tıp Fakültesi’ni bitirdi. Çocuk cerrahisi uzmanlık eğitimini 2014 yılında İstanbul Üniversitesi Cerrahpaşa Tıp Fakültesi’nde tamamladı. Dear Colleagues and Friends,
I am excited to share an important milestone in my academic and professional journey. Today, I have successfully defended my PhD thesis titled "The Development of the Lung Vasculature in Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia and Its Clinical Implications" at Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona, and I am proud to announce that I received an "Outstanding/Excellent" grade.
This accomplishment holds a special significance for me, not only because it marks the culmination of years of dedicated research and study but also because of the profound personal and professional connections it encompasses.
I had the privilege of presenting my research at Vall d'Hebron Hospital, the very institution where I embarked on my first international experience in pediatric surgery 13 years ago. It was here that I met and worked alongside Prof. Peiro who has greatly influenced my career.
I am deeply grateful to my thesis advisors, Prof. Peiro and Prof. Espin, for their unwavering guidance, support, and mentorship throughout this journey. Prof. Peiro, whom I first met during my initial stint at Vall d'Hebron, has been a constant source of inspiration and knowledge. His expertise and encouragement have been invaluable. Prof. Espin's insights and constructive feedback have also played a crucial role in shaping my research.
I look forward to the opportunities that lie ahead as I continue to contribute to the field of pediatric surgery and lung vasculature research. Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and belief in my work.

Dr. Aydin graduated from Kabatas High School in 2000. He received his MD from Marmara University, School of Medicine, Istanbul, Turkey in 2007 and completed his pediatric surgery fellowship at Istanbul University Cerrahpasa Medical Faculty in 2014. He worked as a visiting scholar in Fetal Surgery at Barcelona Vall d’Hebron University. After completing his pediatric surgery fellowship, he worked as a consultant pediatric surgeon in Istanbul Bahcelievler State Hospital and Istanbul Bagcilar Training and Research Hospital. Then he worked as a research fellow at the Fetal Center at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center between 2016 and 2018. He was graduated from the School of Health Services Administration, Ataturk University, Erzurum, Turkey and e-MBA, School of Business, Bahçeşehir University, Istanbul, Turkey in 2019. He is also studying at School of Business, Istanbul University, Istanbul, Turkey; Applied Data Science Program Master’s Program, TED University, Ankara, Turkey and Surgical Morphology PhD Programme in Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona.
His main field of interest is the prenatal and postnatal management of congenital diaphragmatic hernia. His research interests include prenatal diagnostic markers of congenital diseases, prenatal imaging modalities of congenital diseases and development of new fetal therapeutic interventions.
He has many publications both in national and international journals.
His mission is being a pioneer in improving child health beginning from the prenatal period. His vision is trying to improve child health and transform the delivery of care through fully integrated, globally recognized research, education, and innovation.
