Carnival is all about vibes, colour, and freedom—but your skin still needs protection.
During Carnival season, we’re exposed to intense UV rays, especially during long hours on the road and those early morning and day fetes. Too much sun exposure can lead to sunburn, dark spots, premature aging, heat rashes, and over time, it also increases the risk of skin cancer.
Many people don’t realize that UV damage happens even on cloudy days and that sweat, water, and friction from costumes can make skin more vulnerable. Areas like the face, scalp, shoulders, chest, back, and feet are often forgotten but are most at risk.
Protecting your skin is simple but essential:
Apply a broad-spectrum sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher) and reapply every 2 hours
Don’t forget lips, ears, neck, and scalp
Wear protective accessories when possible
Hydrate well and soothe skin after sun exposure
Your skin is with you long after Carnival ends—protect it now so it stays healthy, glowing, and strong.
