Vitamin D deficiency is more common than most people realise. A large pooled analysis of 7.9 million participants found that 47.9% of people worldwide had vitamin D levels below 50 nmol/L.

Fatigue, bone pain or weakness, muscle aches, and mood changes can all be signs worth paying attention to. If you’ve been feeling off for a while, don’t ignore it.

Get checked and get clear on what your body may be telling you.

Most of us move through life juggling small problems every day. Work deadlines. Family responsibilities. Bills. Stress. Things that feel urgent in the moment.

Health rarely sits at the top of that list. Not because it isn’t important. Simply because when we feel fine, it is easy to assume everything is fine.

But the truth is that health often changes quietly. Blood pressure rises slowly. Blood sugar shifts over time. Fatigue becomes something you learn to live with.

By the time health demands your full attention, everything else suddenly feels smaller.

Regular check ups are not about expecting something to be wrong. They are about understanding where your health stands before problems take hold.

At Emory Medical and Chiropractic Clinic, our approach is simple. Take the time to listen, assess carefully, and help patients make informed decisions about their long term health.

If it has been a while since your last check up, it may be a good time to start that conversation.

Most people only think about seeing a doctor when something feels wrong.

But many health issues don’t begin with obvious symptoms. They build quietly over time. Blood pressure creeps up. Blood sugar shifts. Fatigue becomes normal. Small changes go unnoticed until they are harder to manage.

A regular health check-up creates a baseline. It gives your doctor a clearer picture of what is normal for you and what might need attention. It also creates space for conversations people often postpone. Questions about lifestyle. Concerns about medications. Patterns you may not have connected before.

These visits are not only about detecting problems. They are about understanding your health before problems take hold.

At Emory Medical & Chiropractic Clinic, we approach check-ups as an opportunity to listen, assess carefully, and help you make informed decisions about your long-term health.

Appointments are available if you are ready to take a closer look at where your health stands.

🌈 Health & Safety Tips for Phagwa
1. Protect your eyes
Abeer powder can irritate the eyes. Wearing sunglasses or protective eyewear can help prevent redness and discomfort.
2. Use skin-safe powders
Try to use natural or skin-friendly abeer whenever possible. Some powders may contain chemicals that irritate skin or cause allergic reactions.
3. Apply oil or moisturizer before celebrating
A light layer of coconut oil or moisturizer on your skin and hair can make the colours easier to wash off and reduce irritation.
4. Be mindful of breathing
Large clouds of powder can be uncomfortable for some people, especially children, the elderly, or anyone with asthma. Step away from dense powder areas if breathing becomes difficult.
5. Stay hydrated
Phagwa celebrations often happen outdoors in the sun. Drink plenty of water throughout the day to avoid dehydration.
6. Protect your skin from the sun
Use sunscreen if you will be outside for long periods. Powder and sweat can make skin more sensitive to sun exposure.
7. Watch your footing
Wet powder and water can make surfaces slippery. Move carefully, especially around steps or uneven ground.
8. Respect personal space
Not everyone enjoys powder thrown directly in their face. Celebrate with joy, but also with respect for others’ comfort and safety.
✨ Phagwa is about joy, unity, and renewal. A little mindfulness ensures everyone leaves the celebration with colourful memories, not injuries.

March is a good time to reset.

Carnival is over. Routines are settling. Life is moving forward again.

But have you checked in on your health?

Preventative care does not have to be complicated. It starts with small, intentional steps:

✔ Check your blood pressure
✔ Monitor respiratory symptoms, especially during heavy dust periods
✔ Address recurring headaches instead of ignoring them
✔ Review medication consistency
✔ Pay attention to chronic pain patterns
✔ Schedule overdue bloodwork
✔ Prioritize hydration and consistent sleep

Many health concerns develop quietly. By the time symptoms become severe, the issue has often been present for some time.

Taking action early makes a difference.

This month, do not wait for your body to force you to slow down. Choose to check in before that happens.

Prevention is responsibility.

What GP-Led Care Actually Means at Emory.

There is a difference between reactive treatment and coordinated care.

GP-led care means:
• Comprehensive evaluation
• Understanding medical history
• Monitoring long-term patterns
• Coordinating appropriate referrals when necessary

It prioritizes continuity and clarity.

Health care should feel structured, not fragmented.

Waiting for symptoms is outdated health care.

Regular medical evaluations allow early identification of:
• Blood pressure concerns
• Metabolic shifts
• Respiratory changes
• Musculoskeletal imbalance

Preventative care is not about fear.
It is about informed responsibility.

Your future health is shaped by present decisions.

Not every headache is “just stress.”

Dust exposure can inflame sinus passages, creating facial pressure, neck tension and recurring headaches.

Understanding the cause matters.

Treating symptoms without identifying the trigger often prolongs discomfort.

During heavy dust periods, monitor patterns.
Frequency and intensity are important signals.

Proper assessment leads to proper care.
