👁️💙Every year, World Sight Day reminds us of the importance of protecting our vision. For people living with diabetes, this reminder is even more critical.

Diabetes can affect the tiny blood vessels in the eyes, leading to a condition called diabetic retinopathy, which is one of the leading causes of preventable blindness worldwide. The good news is that with early detection, proper diabetes management, and regular eye screenings, vision loss can often be avoided.

Giving Back with Purpose 💙 As part of our 6th Form Summer Health Internship Programme, our interns were divided into groups and tasked with developing, marketing, and selling innovative products, including the Eye Screening Awareness Card, Diabetic Foot Monofilament Tester, and Diabetic Glucose Tablets.

Through their creativity and teamwork, the interns successfully produced and sold their products, raising $27,466.00. All proceeds were donated to Kristopher Mohamed, a graduate and past intern of the DATT & TATIL Internship Programme 2023. He is also a current DATT member and active volunteer.

Kristopher is currently undergoing treatment for Stage Four Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, a cancer affecting the lymphatic system. His treatment, which includes immunochemotherapy and specialized medication, is not available through the public health system.

On behalf of the 2025 6th Form Internship Cohort, representatives from TATIL and TATIL Life, Marketing Manager Stephen Hamel-Smith, and DATT Education Officer Dr. Bernice Dyer-Regis proudly presented the funds raised by the interns to Kristopher in support of his treatment. 💪🏽✨
