Want a drink?
Why not one that's going to help you long term!
We've all heard the benefits of red wine, even white wine from Resveratrol and Quercetin respectively, but what about a good ole G&T?

Well looking at longevity research the derivative of Tonic water lies with the cinchona bark and thus Quinine, which also serves as a SIRT 1 activator.
Of note this has the same health benefits in combating Malaria so the efficacy of the drug need not be questioned.

Yet like everything, the dose makes the danger.

Looking at it from all the different things you consume recreationally, how nice to see positive effects of your down time on your health.

The Dutch/English have been on to something without knowing it seems

This definitely makes sense for why this has been my drink of choice 🤷🏽‍♂️

Any one switching to the healthy side of a night out with me?!

(Validation for my healthy lapses in concentration 😂)

No better way than to review the data. There have been numerous studies over the past 20 years showing different effects on the different parameters that would be considered the necessary metrics:
1 HOMA IR (Homeostatic Model Assessment of Insulin Resitance)
2 Triglyceride levels
3 BMI
4 Blood Pressure
5 Fasting Insulin levels
6 Glycemic Response

After review, with 1 drink of alcohol averaging 12g of alcohol, and excessive being >48g and then comparing this to non drinkers, the results were interesting.

Moderate drinkers, approx in the range of 6-48g of alcohol had a decreased values of fasting glucose.

This has many implications. The type of alcohol, the composition with the present additives such as Resveratrol in red wine and Quinine in Tonic water. As well as the fermentation and sugar content of the alcohol being used.
That's just breaking down the Alcohol!
😄

The baseline HOMA IR has also been viewed as a limitation in assessing where these patients started by pooling all the relevant info that was ever studied on patients and their glycemic response to alcohol and their associated weight/ BMI and their subsequent risk of developing or worsening Type 2 Diabetes.

One take away you can appreciate is that the TYPE, AMOUNT and QUALITY of alcohol plays a part in your Glycemic Response.
This also affects other areas of your physiology, like your Blood pressure and weight loss, Triglycerides and more.
But it's an area where there is some benefit in moderation vs the extreme ends of the spectrum.

Thread slowly, but bravely!

Have you ever seen this response?

Does this count as playing with your food???
All day, keto way, errr day!
Eggs and cheddar cheese
Low carb high fat
I once spoke to a guy who told me he lost an immense amount of weight simply eating boiled eggs ONLY
A bit monotonous, but makes sense.
He's in a constant state of fat metabolism and so can you.
A little discipline goes a long way, but how bad do you want it?

What moral obligations are you holding yourself to?
What will you regret that you didn't do in 10 years?
Words from the wise!

Older people often express that it's not the opportunities they took, but those they didn't take that they most regret.

Follow up article from Harvard Medical School demonstrating a simple RCT (Radnomised Control Trial) with a smaller number of participants as the associated following studies demonstrate, yet, the trends are the same.
Hunger and appetite suppressing hormones down, hunger hormones UP!
Wait for tomorrow when I show you how this looks on a fMRI scan and you see what lights up in your brain when you're making those choices.
Safe to say... you may be brainwashed!
Happened to you yet?

Ever eaten lots and LOTS of food and still hungry?
Those prepackaged meats, all the syrups and nectars laced in foods as preservatives:
- Caramel
- Blackstrap masses
- Corn Syrups
- Fructose
- Maple syrup
And so much more!!!

These things are designed to keep you hungry not get you FULL.
Industry knows this but not so should you.
Eating healthy tends to be an expense we don't put into context yet we spend the same money on things we are not directly putting into our bodies like our car, house and more, which we need to be alive first and foremost to enjoy

Start making an investment in your health starting at your mouth.

What ultra processed foods do you need to cut out?

Accurate representation of your problem solving process and anxiety?
In the grand scheme of things always try to remember.....
It's not that important!
No matter what you do!

Hello Bread lovers!
Not the ideal way to start your day if you're on the usual daily schedule
Our "regular" flour isn't doing us any favours in the long term and isn't the right way to start your day.
So what do you do?
Switch up the negatives for a positive.
Use of almond flour which is a bit heavier and more so coconut flour which is ideal for your baking needs with muffins and other dishes which needs to "rise" solves this problem.
Simple substitute but one which makes the difference in the end and controls your blood glucose and more so Insulin spikes.
Small changes really make the difference in the long run.
Have you tried this yet?

Putting aside the multitude of other factors that are affected positively from TCR (Therapeutic Carb Restriction) with attention to our Lipid Profile as I demonstrated, here's some literature via a meta-anlysis and focus on some associated key factors:
- BP (Systolic and Diastolic)
- BMI and Waist Circumference
- Triglycerides
- Insulin levels (Plasma)
- HbA1c
- C- reactive protein (CRP)
And so much more...

The evidence is there, literally.
Why aren't you getting yourself together?!

So if I'm eating fats and NOT getting fat and starting my day with these fatty calories, clearly there must be more to it and than meets the eye
Maybe the body is a bit more complex and has hormonal triggers.
After a year, I'm not a balloon and I've been doing this daily.
Yet it's not been reflected negatively in my blood investigations and I am near perfection with my Lipid profile.
Nutritional ketosis is easier than you think but needs supervision and you can do it too.
There is simplicity in detail.
There is a method to what seems like madness.
You can join too!
So why haven't you?!
