Vitabiotics 5K and Wellkid 1K Run Raises $40,000 for the Trinidad and Tobago Heart Foundation.
The third annual Vitabiotics 5K and Wellkid 1K Run, hosted by Suncrest International Limited, brought together nearly 2,000 participants for an afternoon dedicated to health, movement, and community engagement at the Queen’s Park Savannah.
The event was originally introduced as part of Suncrest’s commitment to promoting preventative health and encouraging healthier lifestyles. Over the past three years, it has evolved into a growing national wellness initiative that encourages individuals and families to prioritise their physical and mental wellbeing through active living.
This year’s staging extended beyond a traditional road race, delivering a comprehensive wellness experience. Participants and spectators engaged with a dynamic Race Village featuring brand activations, fitness sessions, and free health screenings conducted by the North West Regional Health Authority.
The event generated $20,000 in profit, which was matched by Suncrest International Limited, bringing the total contribution to $40,000 in support of the Trinidad and Tobago Heart Foundation. This contribution reflects a continued alignment between corporate responsibility and public health advocacy.
The donation was presented by Sarah Inderlall, Marketing manager, and Annie Singh, Director of Suncrest International Limited, to Amit Maharaj, Manager of the Trinidad and Tobago Heart Foundation. The presentation was made in honour of the late Gareth Singh, founder of Suncrest International Limited, whose legacy continues to shape the company’s focus on health, wellness, and community development.
The event was supported by a wide network of race partners including Extra Mile Events, the Ministry of Health, Oasis Premium Water, Kool Kidz, Flavorite Supreme, Karibbean Flavours, SunMix Caribbean, Guiltless Yogurt, Subway Trinidad and Tobago, Marxx Fitness, Farm and Function Caribbean, Toppers Snacks, CPS Trading, Bermudez Biscuit Company, True Bread, Just Kidz Emergency, Good N Natural, Sunshine Cereals, Back in Motion, Optical Emporium, M Pharmacy, and Starbucks Trinidad and Tobago.
