IMPAIRED DRIVING AWARENESS THIS CHRISTMAS

The Christmas season brings increased traffic, celebrations, and higher risks on our roads. Impaired driving—whether caused by alcohol, drugs, fatigue, or distraction—remains one of the leading causes of serious road accidents during the holidays.

Dr. Francis & Associates Family Health & Wellness Centre Ltd. encourages all drivers to take personal responsibility for road safety and to remain vigilant when travelling this season.

Key safety reminders:
• Stay alert for erratic driving behaviours such as swerving, speeding, or delayed reactions
• Report suspected impaired drivers to local authorities when it is safe to do so
• Always wear your seatbelt and maintain a safe following distance
• Drive defensively and anticipate the actions of other road users, especially during peak holiday travel hours

Road safety is a shared responsibility. Protect yourself, your passengers, and everyone else on the road by making smart, informed choices.

Share this message with family and friends, save it as a reminder, and follow Dr. Francis & Associates for trusted health guidance, preventive care education, and community wellness updates throughout the year.

Mental health issues in children and adolescents are often overlooked or missed.

Around 1 in 7 young people suffer from a mental health challenge – anxiety, depression and behavioral disorders are the most common.

The World Health Organization (WHO) says parents, caregivers and teachers can all play an important role in helping to recognize the signs that a child or young person may need mental health support.

Impaired Driving Awareness This Christmas!

Planning ahead saves lives. If you plan to drink, arrange a designated driver, use a ride-sharing service, or take public transportation. If you feel drowsy, do not push through fatigue — rest, take breaks, and arrive safely.

Driving while impaired by alcohol, medication, or exhaustion places you and others at serious risk.

This Christmas, choose responsibility. Protect your life, your loved ones, and everyone sharing the road.

Save this message, share it with your circle, and follow us for trusted health and safety reminders throughout the festive season.

Health workers are more likely to be exposed to respiratory viruses and risk transmitting the viruses to their patients.

💉 Getting vaccinated
🧼 Washing your hands
🤧 Using respiratory etiquette (cough and sneeze into a tissue or arm/elbow)
😷 Wearing a mask when in crowded, enclosed, or poorly ventilated areas

can protect you and your patients from influenza and COVID-19.
