The Ice Cream That Dares to Be Different
No sugar. No compromise. Introducing the artisan brand rewriting what dessert means in the Caribbean.
There is a particular joy that belongs to ice cream- to the cold, creamy weight of it on a warm afternoon, to the way it arrives at exactly the right moment. In Trinidad and Tobago, that moment comes often. But for too long, indulgence and wellbeing have been positioned as opposites, as if choosing one meant surrendering to the other.
Island Growers Limited was founded on the belief that this is a false choice, and that the islands deserve better.
A Brand Born from the Soil of These Islands
Island Growers is a micro artisan ice cream brand rooted in Trinidad and Tobago, built by hand and driven by principle. Every decision- from ingredient selection to formulation- is made with deliberate care. This is not a mass-produced product scaled for convenience. It is the result of meticulous craft, a passion for clean nutrition, and a deep respect for the people who will enjoy it.
The name itself is intentional. Island Growers speaks to provenance, to growth, to something cultivated rather than manufactured. It is an ice cream that knows where it comes from.
"Indulgence and wellbeing should never have been opposites. Island Growers was created to bring them together."
Clean Label, by Design
Walk through the ingredient list of a conventional ice cream and you will find a cascade of unfamiliar names- artificial colours, synthetic flavours, chemical preservatives, and fillers that exist to extend shelf life rather than nourish the person eating it. Island Growers carries none of these.
Every product in the range is crafted with a strict clean-label philosophy: no artificial colours, no artificial flavours, no preservatives. What you taste is exactly what went in. The base is built on real, wholesome ingredients and a stabiliser system drawn from natural sources, formulated to deliver a rich, indulgent texture without a single gram of added sugar.
In place of sugar, Island Growers uses Allulose, a naturally occurring rare sugar that provides gentle sweetness without spiking blood glucose. The result is an ice cream that sits at around 97 kcal per 100g, with negligible glycemic impact.
For Those Who Have Been Left Out
In a country where diabetes affects a significant and growing portion of the population, the dessert aisle has long been a place of reluctant abstinence. Diabetics, pre-diabetics, and those managing their sugar intake have had precious few options and none that felt like true indulgence.
Island Growers changes that. With a formulation that produces no meaningful blood sugar response, it is an ice cream that people living with diabetes can genuinely enjoy, not as a compromise, but as a pleasure.
This is not a "diet" product with all the associations of deprivation that word carries. It is premium, artisan ice cream that happens to be profoundly better for you.
"An ice cream people living with diabetes can actually enjoy — not as a compromise, but as a real pleasure."
The Flavours
Island Growers currently offers four carefully developed flavours, each sourced and formulated with the same exacting standards as the base itself.
Vanilla - Made with Grade A Madagascar vanilla pods — the gold standard of vanilla — delivering a floral, complex warmth that synthetic extracts simply cannot replicate.
Strawberry - Built on freeze-dried strawberry powder for an intense, true-fruit flavour. Bright, natural, and vivid — with no artificial colour in sight.
Trinitario Chocolate- A nod to the world-class cocoa grown on these very islands. Trinitario is one of the most prized cacao varieties on Earth, and it belongs on home soil.
Coffee- Rich, roasted, and unapologetically bold. For those who want their dessert to carry the same depth as their morning cup.
Rooted in the Region
Island Growers is committed to sourcing ingredients locally wherever possible. This is not merely an ethical position — it is a practical one. Locally available ingredients are fresher, more traceable, and their use keeps value circulating within the Caribbean economy.
Formulations have been deliberately designed around what can be found here, rather than relying on imported components that may be inconsistent or unavailable.
There is also something philosophically correct about an island brand that draws from its own geography. The Trinitario cocoa in the chocolate flavour is not a coincidence. It is a statement of identity.
A New Standard for Caribbean Dessert
What Island Growers represents is not just a new product. It is a new expectation — that premium ice cream can be made here, from ingredients we trust, for people who deserve to be thought of. That indulgence and integrity are not in conflict. That the Caribbean can produce artisan goods of the highest order.
This is only the beginning. A full frozen and dessert line is in development, and the brand continues to refine and expand its formulations. But the foundation is already exceptional, and it is made right here, in Trinidad and Tobago.
The ice cream that dares to be different is finally here. And it tastes extraordinary.
Island Growers. Pure Island Indulgence.
