It's the small day to day actions that are going to help you obtain and maintain mental and physical wellbeing.
Don't think of mental health and wellness as some big, future goal to arrive at, but a lifestyle full of daily steps and actions that provide you with the life you want to live.

Some daily steps you can take right away:
4 minute breaks during work.
Taking a 10 minute walk to begin or end your day.
Deep breathing on your commute.
Going to bed earlier.
Drinking more water.
Daily gratitude list.

It’s much easier to mask the pain, I know.
The thing is it only works for a time. Real healing and growth is facing our shadows, acknowledging our pain and diving within ourselves to attend to those deep, old wounds.

Until we do that deep inner dive, those wounds are open, festering and being hit and poked daily and that hurts too right?

It’s about choosing your pain - the pain of being triggered daily or the pain of doing your inner work.

Don’t worry, it’s not all that hard, and it’s a little easier with the help of a friend - or a therapist in most cases.

Stanislav Grof, a psychiatrist and one of the founders of transpersonal psychology, has extensively explored the realms of psychopathology and spiritual emergence.
Therapy that includes awareness of spiritual emergence and emergency can help prevent possible misdiagnosis of mental illness.
