Immortelle The page of the Immortelle Centre for Special Education - the only institution catering to the full range of disabilities in T&T. Life skills e.g.

Educational Areas Include:
Maths, Language Arts, Social Studies, Science, Computer Skills and Arts and Craft. Emphasis is also placed on the development of Gross and Fine Motor mobility, the social, emotional,and communication skills of each student. Other skill training include-
1. Dressing,making of beds,basic food preparation.
2. Leisure/social interaction e.g. Music and board games. Extracurri

cular activities include: swimming,horseback riding and sports training for different disciplines at Special Olympics Games.

Happy World Down syndrome day

World Down syndrome day is celebrated each year on March 21st. The 21st day of March ( the 3rd month of the year) was selected to signify the uniqueness of the triplication ( Trisomy) of the 21st chromosome which causes Down syndrome. People with Down syndrome have an extra chromosome.

The idea of wearing socks was created because chromosomes are shaped like socks and the Down syndrome chromosome looks like mismatched socks.
