If your back starts hurting more when you stand or walk, and you feel that burning or pulling down your leg… it’s usually a sign something deeper is going on. 😮‍💨

In some cases, one of the bones in your lower back can shift slightly forward, which reduces the space around the nerves. When that space gets tight, it can lead to that uncomfortable burning, stiffness, or even weakness you feel during the day.

That’s why certain positions make it worse… and why the right movements can actually help relieve it.

Simple exercises like bringing your knees to your chest can help open that space and take some pressure off the nerves 👀

That pain starting in your lower back and traveling down your leg is not something to ignore. For many people, that is sciatica, and it goes beyond simple muscle tightness. Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes irritated or compressed, and that can create a range of symptoms including sharp or shooting pain, burning sensations, tingling, numbness, or even weakness in the leg. For some, it is a mild but constant annoyance. For others, it begins to interfere with walking, sitting, sleeping, and everyday life.

One of the biggest mistakes people make is trying to stretch it away without understanding what is actually causing it. Sciatica is not the same for everyone. It can come from disc issues, joint restrictions, muscle imbalances, or direct nerve irritation. This is why random exercises or generic advice often does not solve the problem and can sometimes make it worse over time.

Real improvement comes from understanding what your body is dealing with. That means proper assessment, targeted treatment, and the right movement strategies based on your specific condition. It is not about temporary relief, it is about addressing the root of the issue so your body can function the way it is supposed to.
