*True knot in the umbilical cord*.
Only one person is in charge! God 🙏🏼.
This is a true reminder that God is the greatest.
This 42 year old saw me for her routine checkup yessss (only 42 🤗) yesterday in her pregnancy, she was doing amazing. Obviously tired but counting down. She was 34 weeks yesterday with absolutely no issues. We went through the possible reasons to come to hospital in case of an emergency. She had 2 previous caesarean sections so we had been planning a date in 2-3 weeks for a third c section based on the scar tissue we see on ultrasound in 2 weeks.
Lo and behold! she was awaken by a gush of water this morning…….. guess what? water bag burst! No prior warning. No problem! Stay calm and that she was. No pain. Active fetus, moving a lot. I told her to go to St. Augustine Private Hospital and we will admit her but we will have to deliver soon.
At SAPH, the fetal heart rate was monitored on the CTG machine and all was good. She was administered Dexamethasone injections to aid in fetal lung maturity for an improved outcome of the baby.
I however had to book her for an emergency caesarean section at 1pm because she started experiencing pain. Ideally tomorrow would have been better but baby clearly had a plan guided by God. In the operating theatre, at c section, excitement peaked. All consultants were present: Anaesthetist, Obgyn (me), Paediatrician, midwife, assistant, scrub nurse and theatre staff.
It takes a TEAM! 🙏🏼❤️.
The surgery started, in a flash the baby was delivered and look at the photo below………. Unbelievable! There was a ‘true’ knot in the cord. No one knew this but the Almighty 🙏🏼. This baby had to come out today. The signs God shows us must never be overlooked, there’s always a reason.
Blessings and congratulations to these happy and relieved parents. May God continue to shower you with his love and blessings.
