•Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) is a health problem that affects 1 in 10 women of childbearing age.

PCOS symptoms may begin shortly after puberty, but can also develop during the later teen years and early adulthood.

Polycystic o***y syndrome is a common health problem caused by an imbalance of reproductive hormones. The hormonal imbalance creates problems in the ovaries. The ovaries make the egg that is released each month as part of a healthy menstrual cycle. With PCOS, the egg may not develop as it should or it may not be released during ovulation as it should be.

•PCOS can cause missed or irregular menstrual periods as a result of not ovulating. Irregular periods can lead to:

•Infertility (inability to get pregnant). PCOS is one of the most common causes of infertility in women.
Development of cysts (small fluid-filled sacs) in the ovaries

Polycystic o***y syndrome (PCOS) is a complex condition that is most often diagnosed by the presence of two of the three following criteria: hyperandrogenism, ovulatory dysfunction, and polycystic ovaries. Because these findings may have multiple causes other than PCOS, a careful, targeted history and physical examination are required to ensure appropriate diagnosis and treatment.

Sciatica occurs when the sciatic nerve becomes pinched, usually by a herniated disk in your spine or by an overgrowth of bone (bone spur) on your vertebrae. More rarely, the nerve can be compressed by a tumor or damaged by a disease such as diabetes, which affects the way your body uses blood sugar, and thereby increases your risk of nerve damage.

The symptom of sciatica is pain that radiates from your lower (lumbar) spine to your buttock and down the back of your leg is the hallmark of sciatica. You might feel the discomfort almost anywhere along the nerve pathway, but it's especially likely to follow a path from your low back to your buttock and the back of your thigh and calf.

Hyperthyroidism occurs when the thyroid makes too much T4, T3, or both. Diagnosis of overactive thyroid and treatment of the underlying cause can relieve symptoms and prevent complications.

A variety of conditions can cause hyperthyroidism. Graves’ disease, an autoimmune disorder, is the most common cause of hyperthyroidism. It causes antibodies to stimulate the thyroid to secrete too much hormone.

• Graves’ disease occurs more often in women than in men. It tends to run in families.

• High amounts of T4, T3, or both can cause an excessively high metabolic rate. This is called a hypermetabolic state.

• When in a hypermetabolic state, you may experience a rapid heart rate, elevated blood pressure.

• Hyperthyroidism can also cause atrial fibrillation, a dangerous arrhythmia that can lead to strokes, as well as congestive heart failure.

With the proper diagnosis of this condition the person can start effective treatment that will aid in his / her symptoms. Diagnosing this can be done by:

- blood sample ( to how much thyroid hormone (T4 and T3) is in your blood. )

- Cholesterol test ( to see whether the metabolic rate is elevated or not )

- An ultrasound of the neck can measure the size of the entire thyroid gland, as well as any masses within it.

-Thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) when the thyroid hormone levels are normal or high, your TSH should be lower. An abnormally low TSH can be the first sign of hyperthyroidism.
