📘 LYMPH CLASS #4: The Organs of the Lymphatic System
Hello again, Lymphies! 👋💛
You’re doing an amazing job building your Lymphatic Toolbox 🧰 one class at a time!
Today, we’re zooming in on the key organs that support, filter, and regulate your lymphatic flow and immune defense. These aren’t just passive parts of your body — they’re active players in healing.
🧬 1️⃣ The Spleen – Your Immune Reservoir
• Largest lymphatic organ
• Filters blood, not just lymph
• Removes old red blood cells & pathogens
• Stores white blood cells and platelets
• Releases immune cells during infection or injury
📍 Located: Upper left side of abdomen under the ribs
🌀 If overloaded → can cause fatigue, poor immunity, or swelling in the upper abdomen
🌱 2️⃣ The Thymus – Immune Training School
• Where T-cells mature before entering circulation
• Vital in childhood and adolescence
• Starts to shrink (involute) after puberty
• Still plays a role in autoimmunity and immune regulation
📍 Located: Behind the sternum, above the heart
🌀 RA and autoimmune conditions often involve dysregulated T-cell activity, linked back to thymus training errors
🛡️ 3️⃣ The Tonsils & Adenoids – First Line Defenders
• Located at the entrance of the respiratory and digestive tracts
• Trap pathogens from inhaled or ingested substances
• Stimulate early immune responses
• Can become chronically inflamed or removed in childhood
📍 Located: Back of the throat and behind the nose
🌀 Frequent infections or tonsil inflammation may signal lymphatic strain
💧 4️⃣ Peyer’s Patches & GALT – Gut-Associated Lymphatic Tissue
• Found in the small intestine
• Constantly samples the gut contents to detect pathogens
• Produces immune responses to food antigens, bacteria, and viruses
• Plays a major role in food sensitivity, leaky gut, and autoimmunity
📍 Located: Gut lining (especially ileum)
🌀 A sluggish gut lymph system can lead to bloating, histamine sensitivity, poor detox, and chronic inflammation
🧠 5️⃣ The Bone Marrow
• Where all lymphocytes (B cells & T cells) are born
• B cells mature here before traveling through lymph
• Constantly working to produce immune defense cells
• Deeply linked to your immune system and repair mechanisms
🧠 Bonus Insight:
Your lymphatic system doesn’t work alone. These organs are interconnected with your circulatory, digestive, and nervous systems.
When one is overloaded — the whole network feels it.
✅ Lymphie Takeaways:
• Your lymph system isn’t just “nodes” — it’s a living immune organ system
• Gut, spleen, and thymus health are essential for autoimmune balance
• Supporting these organs = supporting full-body lymph flow
