Happy World Radiography Day!

World Radiography Day marks the anniversary of the discovery of X-rays in 1895 by Wilhelm Roentgen.
The purpose of this day is to raise public awareness of radiographic imaging and therapy, which play a crucial role in the diagnosis and the treatment of patients and, most importantly, ensuring radiation is kept to the minimum required, hence improving the quality of patient care.

From the discovery and use of X-rays came all other imaging modalities and therapy:

Happy Republic Day, Trinidad & Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago became a Republic on August 1st, 1976. The event is celebrated as a public holiday on September 24th because this is the date when the first Parliament met under the new Republican Constitution.

What's the difference between a 3D/4D scan and the regular pregnancy ultrasound?

Conventional ultrasound, seen as grey or black and white, uses sound waves to create images of whats going on inside your body.
We can see all the way through you from the skin on your stomach to your spine.

This is the same for 3D/4D scans, but more advanced technology is utilized in how the image is shown on the screen. It is used to show the skin's surface.
With 3D scans, we can see your baby's actual cheeks, lips and facial features as if you're looking right at the baby!
4D scans show what we see in 3D, but with motion - so we can see them smile and pout in real time!

Routine Obstetric, Dating and Anomaly scans can be done as a walk-in service.

3D/4D scans are done by APPOINTMENT ONLY during a specific time frame during your pregnancy.
