Our story

Sangre Grande Private Health Clinic is a Doctor’s Office located in the heart of the Sangre Grande Business District on Brierley Street opposite the landmark P.T.S.C. Bus Terminal and steps away from the Sangre Grande Main Road. It was founded by Dr. Lutchmie Bassawh-Nath, a General Practitioner, with a special interest in Women’s Health issues.

Dr. Bassawh-Nath worked at the Mt. Hope Women’s Hospital as a House Officer and then in the Obstetrics and Gynaecology Department at Sangre Grande Hospital, as a House Officer and Acting Registrar before starting this private practice in 2012. She is an Associate of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists. As a doctor working in this community for years she fell in love with this unique town and it’s warm and friendly people. Bringing quality healthcare to our patients is our first mission but taking the special care to respect our patients’ dignity and comfort in their vulnerable moments is something we hold with equal value.

Since its inception the clinic has expanded to include St. Augustine Medical Laboratory, a Lab that meets exacting international standards, and other independent medical practitioners, all bringing their passion for healthcare and unique expertise to the community.
