✨ National Acne Positivity Day ✨

Today reminds us to let go of the stigma around acne and love ourselves just as we are. Our skin may sometimes make us feel vulnerable, but it doesn’t define us. Acne can be frustrating, yes—but it’s just another challenge we can overcome. 💪🏾

Here’s how you can observe Acne Positivity Day:
💖 Put your best face forward, bare and natural or full glam, whichever feels good for you.
📸 Share your skin journey with confidence, both the struggles and the wins.
🤲🏾 Celebrate your friends who radiate skin positivity (we love our Acne Positivists!).
🌟 Most importantly, embrace every blemish, every pimple, every mark—because your skin tells your unique story.

Today, let’s celebrate our skin with love, confidence, and pride. 💕

International Overdose Awareness Day is observed every year on August 31 to shine a light on a crisis that affects families and communities worldwide. This day reminds us that overdose is preventable—and together, we can take action to save lives. 💜

It’s not just about raising awareness, but also about breaking the stigma. Overdose prevention solutions exist, and everyone deserves access to compassionate care, support, and dignity.

Let’s stand together to honor lives lost, support those who grieve, and push for a future where fewer families are impacted.

✨On August 31st, 1962, Trinidad and Tobago proudly gained independence from Great Britain. At the stroke of midnight, the Union Jack was lowered, and our red, white, and black flag was raised for the very first time—bells rang, sirens echoed, and a new nation was born.

It’s more than just a holiday, it’s a celebration of our history, our people, and our vibrant spirit. ❤️🖤🤍

World Cancer Support Month is observed every August as a time to stand together in love, strength, and support for anyone affected by cancer. It’s about reminding ourselves that no one has to face this journey alone—whether you’re a patient, survivor, caregiver, or family member.

This month is about raising awareness, breaking the stigma, and creating safe spaces for open conversations. It’s also a reminder of the importance of compassion—supporting not only the physical but also the emotional and mental well-being of those impacted.

Together, we can spread hope, strength, and healing. 💜

Sometimes “fitting in” holds us back from truly shining. 💫 This powerful reminder from Maya Angelou encourages us to embrace our uniqueness and step into our full potential. You don’t have to be “normal” — you just have to be YOU. 🌸✨

World Mosquito Day is a reminder that mosquitoes aren’t just annoying—they can spread dangerous diseases like malaria. Each year on this day, we also honor Sir Ronald Ross, the doctor who discovered in 1897 that mosquitoes transmit malaria. His work changed the fight against one of the world’s deadliest killers. 🌍✨

It’s the perfect time to learn, stay protected, and spread awareness about mosquito-borne illnesses.

Breast cancer is the leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in T&T. While fewer women here are diagnosed compared to the US, the risk of dying is much higher. 💗

On World Breast Cancer Research Day, we’re reminded that local research and innovation are key to saving lives. Caribbean doctors, researchers, and advocacy groups are making strides — but there’s still more to do. Together, we can support better care and brighter futures for women in our region. 🌸
