Even my baby does more yoga than I do...
4 weeks postpartum and I'm happy to still function. How some mothers can do it on their own is absolutely beyond me.

Someone gave me a great piece of advice - don't set expectations for your sadhana in this time. No expectations = no disappointment.

This morning I prioritised Shambawi over sleep and it was sooo worth it, but yes, priorities changed after having a baby. Getting enough nutrition to breastfeed, eating 3 meals a day and sleeping whenever I can, leave very little time with the right condition for Hatha Yoga.

I just want to say to all new mothers out there: I see you 💗 you are doing a tremendous job keeping yourself and your baby alive. Anything else is not important right now.

Still I can't wait to be able to do a full set of practices. My body is practically back to square one with strength and flexibility. The forehead is not touching the legs, the knees are not straight and the heel is nowhere near muladhara...

Surya Kriya 是一種非常緩慢而溫和的練習,相當適合初學者。它會慢慢變暖並伸展您的關節和肌肉,有助於緩解慢性疼痛和僵硬。它還可以調理您的整個身體並平靜您的心靈。在整個練習過程中,您始終閉上眼睛,專注於呼吸。這是修行的內在精神部分。

☀️ Surya 的意思是太陽,Kriya 的意思是內在的能量過程。 Surya Kriya 會活化太陽神經叢以提高系統中的 Samat Prana 或太陽熱量。

Surya Kriya 需要 6 小時來學習。
課程分為2天,每天3小時。
之後每天在家自己練習。
還提供額外的練習課程和糾正課程。
每天練習大約需要30分鐘,最好在早上進行。
必須空腹練習,即飽餐後4小時、點心後2.5小時、喝飲料後1.5小時。

Isha Janani is an online program organized directly by the Isha Foundation designed for pregnant ladies.

I was lucky enough that it was happening in my time zone while I was 7 months along. It lasted for 5 Sundays starting in the middle of June 2025. Each Sunday from 11am until 1pm we were taught practices conducive for pregnancy, like Nada Yoga, chants and Pranayama. As well as additional knowledge on nutrition, Sadhguru’s talks and lots more related content.

It was honestly the best way to spend my Sundays for those short 5 weeks as I really needed the community of other pregnant ladies and guidance from an Ishanga. I felt very warm, welcome and included. Especially during the sharings from other women who were going through their pregnancies.

Since my teacher training in 2021 I would travel to the Ashram every few months. I would stay for weeks and months at a time, volunteering or attending programs. So for the past 9 months I have been starving for the Ashram. I missed the space, the temples, food, like minded people and the feeling that I’m in the right place doing something worthwhile. No other place can truly compare.
As my pregnancy has not been straightforward, going even for a short visit was absolutely out of the question as my doctor hasn’t approved.

I have been slowly losing my mind…
The amount of yoga you are allowed to do during pregnancy is greatly limited. I was always getting everything I needed from my physical practices like Surya Kriya, Surya Shakti and Yogasanas, which are all absolutely a big NO NO during pregnancy. Don’t even mention Angamardana.

I was never big on sitting for meditation and chants… and slowly my body and mind started to turn against me. I felt tired and purposeless and I had constant anxiety about the well being of my baby.
Fortunately my friend told me about the Janani Program, which I enrolled in immediately.

It gave me a boost to restart the practices which I could still do and be consistent. I love to read and paint, but for some reason since I got pregnant I couldn’t find any creativity in myself. Because every week we had homework to complete for the Janani Program I was forced to do my practices and get back to my crafts. It was the best thing that happened to me. When the program ended we were equipped with a set of daily practices, links to videos and resources and direct support contacts.

I finally felt seen and heard and found joy in my hobbies. I started to do Isha Kriya three times a day like instructed and all the small pains and aches just disappeared. It calmed my mind and helped me deal with the anxiety.

If you are currently pregnant and have interest in this program, reach out to your local Isha Center, Hatha Yoga teacher or Ishanga. As this program is offered online you can attend it from the comfort of your own home.

哈達瑜伽源於對身體力學的深刻理解,透過瑜伽體式(Yogasanas),使身體能維持更高的能量狀態。透過練習這門深奧的科學,人們可以改變並提升思考、感受和體驗生命的方式。

Asana(體式)字面意思為「姿勢」。在身體能呈現的無數姿勢中,有 84 種被認定為瑜伽體式,透過它們,人們可以將身心轉化為實現終極幸福的可能。透過有意識地擺出特定姿勢,可以為能量流動創造有利通道,進而提升意識。
瑜伽體位法是一種調整內在系統並使其與天體幾何對齊的方式,進而與存在同步,從而自然達到健康、喜悅、幸福,以及最重要的平衡狀態。

Pregnancy is a beautiful time in a woman’s life but it comes with many challenges. Rapidly changing body, back, hips and neck pains,nausea, heartburns… you name it. Not only that but expectant mothers experience high levels of anxiety and hormonal changes. They are expected to grow a whole new human body while maintaining physical and mental health…
It is a lot!

Only after experiencing all of the above myself I truly understand what pregnancy means. It is a demanding and tedious journey which made me appreciate my own mother and see her in a different light.

As there are very few resources and safe exercise for pregnancy, I am very lucky I already have tools and means to go through this pregnancy. Years of practicing Hatha Yoga and meditation are my saving grace in this vulnerable time.
I would love to share free resources that any pregnant lady can access at her convenient time and practice at home.

I offer advanced pregnancy classes, but they require classroom time, which might not always be possible. So here is the free offering to make this journey easier, help you move a little, calm down your mind and prepare for the labor.

課後:曼陀羅瑜珈的前40天 - 每天練習兩次,之後堅持每天練習。
Isha Hatha瑜珈是與老師一起進行的2-3天綜合課程,之後你可以在家中自行練習。
