Our Story

Systemic Lupus Erythematosus, or SLE, is a rare disease in the world (attack rate = 0.04%). However, the attack rate is relatively high in Taiwan (0.07%). People who were attacked by SLE can only be given supportive care and cannot be radically cured today. In addition, the patients have to be aware of many potential risks in their daily life to avoid outbreak. Their life is difficult and their relatives or friends seldom know how to take care of them. This triggers our team to design a series of print media to give in-depth introduction about SLE.

The design project, titled ‘All you need to know about SLE’, is consists of a manual, 7 infographic posters, and an educational flip chart. The manual will be handed over to new patients by their doctors, which provides detail information about SLE via interesting and optimistic visual design. The 7 infographic posters, showing crucial information of SLE, will be posted in hospitals or high schools. The information was visualized using exploded view with the interactions of a cute SLE devil and white little guardians. The educational flip chart is consist of the infographic posters, interactive charts, quiz, and puzzles, which enables school teachers to teach and to interact with students.
