Hair is an extremely valuable “jewelry” because it can help us look more beautiful. However, the hair is also easily frizzy, old (premature gray hair), loses vitality (hair loss) and does not grow back. So when the hair turns gray early, the hair falls out, gradually thinning, people start to worry and now feel the importance of the hair.
It is normal to lose 40-100 strands of hair a day. You only need to carry out treatment when you notice that your hair appears one of the following signs:
Hair falls out a lot both wet and dry
– Hair becomes thinner, thinner
– Hair falls out when you gently stroke it
– Hair falls out when you take off the helmet from your head
- Hair falls out when you use a comb
- Hair falls out when you wash your hair
– Hair falls out on the pillow when you wake up
– Hair loss over 100 strands a day
– Hair is sparse, hair roots are far apart, scalp is clearly visible (female)
Hair loss in patches, causing mild baldness (male)
When you encounter one of these cases, if you don't get treatment right away, it will be very difficult to treat later. Some cases of hair loss for a long time will lead to hair follicles degenerating, causing permanent hair loss.
👍. Types of hair loss
Hair loss is divided into two types: normal physiological hair loss and pathological hair loss. The normal life cycle of hair (growing, stopping, shedding) is more than 1,000 days, if every day hair loss of less than 100 strands is normal. In case of more hair loss, it means there is a problem, it may be a pathological form of hair loss, which needs urgent treatment.
Pathological hair loss can be divided into 3 types:
Diffuse hair loss,
- Baldness,
- Bald Patches
Diffuse hair loss (hair loss evenly throughout the scalp) is the most common form, and includes causes such as effects after giving birth, after a high fever, after taking cancer drugs, and reaching menopause. , long-term severe stress... Unlike diffuse hair loss, baldness is mainly caused by genetic and hormonal causes... Baldness occurs in both men and women, however, men account for a higher percentage and form bald is also different from female. Alopecia areata usually occurs in a few isolated areas of the scalp and the cause is unknown.
👍. Causes of hair loss, baldness
Hair is made up of a protein called keratin, which comes from hair follicles located in the top layer of the scalp. As hair follicles produce new hair cells, old hair cells are pushed away from the surface of the scalp at the rate of about 15cm/year. The visible part of the hair is actually a series of dead keratin cells. The average adult has between 100,000 and 150,000 hairs, and they lose about 100 hairs a day. Thus, alopecia areata is confirmed when the number of hair loss per day exceeds 100 hairs.
