In early February the festival of Imbolc celebrates the returning of the light. Imbolc or Imbolg, translates as “in the belly” referencing the life force within the earth ready to emerge.
All of the Celtic quarter-day festivals are fire festivals. Fire was believed to be protective and cleansing.
Fire is a central part of Bach flower essences – whether it is the warmth of the sun that encourages the flowers to bloom or the inner fire the flower essences stoke.
At this time of year, when so much life is waiting to burst through, it is a testament to nature’s extraordinary power of regeneration.
The stirrings of life are bringing new growth already and Bach flowers are starting to make themselves known in the landscape.
We hope that by sharing our insight into the plants you will develop a deeper personal understanding and relationship with them. And if you are lucky enough to have them growing wild around you, we would encourage you to go and observe them in their natural environment.
