⚠️你知道什麼是糖化血色素(HbA1c)嗎？檢驗這個項目，可以告訴你身體什麼重要訊息嗎？🤔

糖化血色素(HbA1c)是評估血糖控制最重要的指標之一，它能反映過去 2-3 個月的平均血糖狀況，比單次血糖更能看出是否有糖尿病風險或血糖控制良好。

今天我們特別邀請到 👉 新光醫院內分泌科 林岳謙醫師、國際醫療瑋涵護理師，以及駐帛技術團陳志穎營養技師，舉辦校園營養計劃工作坊，一同帶來實用的健康及營養飲食衛教予教育部教職員。

同時由駐帛協調人采綾使用便攜式分析儀，為與會者進行糖化血色素檢測，讓大家不只聽到專業的衛教知識，還能立即透過檢驗結果加深印象，將學到的健康觀念真正記在心裡！💡💪

⚠️Do you know what Hemoglobin A1c (HbA1c) is? Do you know what this test can reveal about your health? 🤔

HbA1c is one of the most important indicators for monitoring blood sugar control. It reflects your average blood sugar level over the past 2–3 months, providing more accurate insights than a single blood sugar test.

Today, we invited 👉 Dr. Andrew Lin (Department of Endocrinology, Shin Kong Hospital), Nurse Wei-Han Huang (International Healthcare), and Dietitian Kelvin Chen from Taiwan Technical Mission to share valuable health and diet education.

Meanwhile, Program Coordinator Tsai-Ling, used a portable analyzer to provide on-site HbA1c testing for participants. This way, everyone not only received professional knowledge but also reinforced their learning by seeing their own results—making health education both practical and memorable! 💡💪

來自帛琉國家醫院的實驗室代訓學員 Colby 與 Aporosa，自 7 月 16 日至 30 日，在新光醫院圓滿完成為期兩週的病理檢驗訓練課程👏

帛琉當地醫療在病理檢驗領域目前缺乏專業的檢體製備技術與相關醫事人員，若有患者需要進行病理檢查，通常需將檢體送往國外，或將病人轉診出國進行檢查，這不僅耗時費力，也造成就醫成本大幅提升，更可能延誤病患的治療時機⏳

因此，本次訓練以「玻片影像製作」為核心，內容包含：
🔬 BD SurePath 製片流程
🎨 Papanicolaou 染色技巧實作
🧪 病理與細胞實驗室必備設備與試劑介紹

透過此次教學，我們期盼學員能將習得的知識與技術，帶回帛琉當地，強化實驗室的基礎建設，提升檢驗能量。

未來，搭配數位病理系統的應用，台灣端更能遠端閱覽帛琉傳來的玻片影像，實現跨國診斷⏱️📡，大幅縮短等待時間，為當地患者爭取更多黃金治療時機！

From July 16 to 30, Colby and Aporosa, lab personnels from Palau, have successfully completed a two-week pathology training program at Shin Kong Hospital. 👏

Due to the shortage of pathology personnel and specimen preparation technology in Palau, patients often need to have samples sent abroad or be referred overseas for diagnosis. This process is time-consuming, costly, and may delay critical treatment. ⏳

The training focused on slide preparation and included:
🔬 BD SurePath processing
🎨 Papanicolaou staining techniques
🧪 Introduction to essential pathology lab equipment and reagents for establishing cytology and pathology lab

We hope the knowledge and skills gained will help strengthen lab capacity in Palau and enhance local diagnostic services.

With the future integration of digital pathology systems, pathologists in Taiwan will be able to remotely review slide images from Palau, enabling faster, cross-border diagnoses and timely medical care. 📡⏱️

2025年第12屆太平洋迷你運動會即將在 6月29日盛大登場於帛琉！來自24個國家與地區、超過2000位選手與隊職員將齊聚一堂。而我們再次榮幸受邀，擔任賽會國際醫療團隊一員，全力提供醫療支援服務✨

我們的專業團隊將於6月25日至7月10日駐守帛琉，為運動員與賽事工作人員提供即時、全方位的醫療照護。本次醫療團隊陣容堅強，由骨科、急診、感染、整形外科等專科醫師，搭配物理治療師與護理師組成，跨領域合作、實力滿滿🔥

🏃‍♂️更棒的是，我們還特別攜帶了體外震波治療儀（ESWT）與自動體外心臟除顫器（AED），並捐贈醫療隊背心、急救包、藥品與運動防護用品等物資，為賽會醫療安全加強後盾！💼🩺

本次賽事期間，我們也將與帛琉衛生部、日本、美國與大洋洲奧委會醫療團隊攜手合作，守護每一位參與者的健康與安全🌍🤝

🌱深耕校園，共築健康未來！新光醫療計畫x帛琉技術團前進GBH小學！🌱

新光醫院對帛琉的關懷，不僅在醫院，更深入校園，灌溉下一代！今年3月至5月，我們的臺灣醫療計畫團隊與臺灣駐帛琉技術團 (Taiwan Technical Mission, TTM) 攜手合作，前往George B. Harris (GBH) 小學，為四到六年級的學生們帶來了一系列活潑有趣的營養與衛生教育課程！

本次系列課程由我們的醫療役男統籌設計，並與TTM的營養計畫陳技師及資訊役男緊密合作。課程聚焦於帛琉在地的三大類營養食物、均衡健康的「我的餐盤」概念，以及運動與運動傷害處理等實用知識。

為了讓學習更有趣，我們設計了互動式的「打地鼠食物分類遊戲」，讓孩子們在競爭與歡笑中熟悉食物分類；並透過分組設計健康餐盤，培養他們的團隊合作與實踐能力。我們欣喜地看到，從四年級到六年級，孩子們的理解力與自信心顯著提升，不僅能清楚闡述健康飲食的原則，甚至能在報告時加入自己的生活經驗，展現出色的思辨能力！

這次成功的校園合作，要特別感謝GBH小學Wicliff校長與師生的熱情參與，以及臺灣駐帛琉技術團在營養專業、程式設計與現場協調上的大力支持。透過教育，我們將健康的種子種在孩子們心中，期待這些知識能陪伴他們成長，深化臺灣與帛琉如家人般的情誼！

🌱Cultivating a Healthier Future! SKH & TTM Join Forces at GBH Elementary!🌱

Shin Kong Hospital’s commitment to Palau’s well-being extends beyond the hospital walls and into the classroom to nurture the next generation! From March to May, our Taiwan Medical Program team joined hands with the Taiwan Technical Mission (TTM) to conduct a series of engaging and fun-filled nutrition and health workshops for 4th to 6th graders at George B. Harris (GBH) Elementary School.

The curriculum was designed by our medical intern, in close collaboration with TTM’s nutritionist and IT specialist. The lessons focused on practical topics tailored for Palau, including the three main food groups, the "MyPlate" concept for balanced eating, and the importance of exercise and basic sports injury care.

To make learning exciting, we introduced an interactive "Whack-a-Mole" game to help students master food classification, while group activities involving designing healthy meal plates fostered teamwork and practical skills. We were thrilled to witness the students' remarkable progress! From 4th to 6th grade, their understanding and confidence grew, enabling them to clearly explain healthy eating principles and even incorporate their own experiences into presentations.

This successful school partnership would not have been possible without the enthusiastic participation of GBH Elementary's Principal Wicliff, teachers and students, and the invaluable support from the Taiwan Technical Mission, who provided expertise in nutrition, programming, and on-site coordination. Through education, we are planting the seeds of health in children's hearts, empowering them with knowledge that will last a lifetime and deepening the family-like friendship between Taiwan and Palau!
