中元普渡是臺灣重要的民俗節日，象徵著人們對鬼神的敬仰與對親人平安的祈求。每逢此時，大至企業行號，乃至一般家庭都會用心準備供品，虔心祈求闔家平安、工作順利。

本院日前也依循傳統，隆重舉行中元普渡祈福團拜，在行政大樓前廣場備置三牲四果、酒水及各式供品，由高譽誠院長率各單位主管及同仁，表達感恩與敬意，並誠心祈求本院院務順利、人員出入平安。

🌿 "Zhongyuan Festival Blessing Ceremony at Tri-Service General Hospital Beitou Branch"
The Zhongyuan Festival, also known as the Ghost Festival, is a significant traditional observance in Taiwan. It symbolizes reverence for spirits and heartfelt prayers for the safety and well-being of loved ones. During this time, from large corporations to individual households, people prepare offerings with sincerity to pray for peace, prosperity, and smooth endeavors.
In keeping with this tradition, our hospital recently held a solemn Zhongyuan Festival blessing ceremony. A full array of offerings—including traditional meats, fruits, wine, and other items—was respectfully arranged in front of the Administration Building. The event was led by Superintendent Dr. Yu-Cheng Kao, along with department heads and colleagues, to express gratitude and respect, while sincerely praying for the hospital's continued success and the safety of all staff and visitors.

👻【莫懼七月鬼門開｜行善孝順報恩月】❤️

農曆七月是傳說中魑魅魍魎一年一度的「暑假」，也是一段充滿令人敬畏和禁忌的時期。

在佛教中，對於農曆七月卻有截然不同的解讀，是充滿平安吉祥的「報恩月、教孝月、孝親月」，又稱為「佛歡喜月」或「僧伽月」。
此月份源於「盂蘭盆節」，依據《盂蘭盆經》記載，佛陀十大弟子目犍連尊者為解救在地獄受苦的母親，便藉由供養僧眾的功德，使其超渡，脫離苦海（眾人熟知「目連救母」的佛經故事，正是以此為藍本）。從此，信徒便在七月舉行「供僧、布施、齋僧」等儀式，也就是「盂蘭盆會」，以報親恩，並將功德迴向先人。

總之，民間廣為流傳可怕的「七月傳說」，或許是老祖宗想藉此提醒我們「歹路不可行」，如心懷惡念、為非作歹、恣意縱情等都會帶來不好的結果。所以，只要心存慈念，行善積德，凡事抱持敬畏之心，也無須過於擔心啦！

👻 “Fear Not the Opening of the Ghost Gate in July | A Month for Good Deeds and Filial Gratitude” ❤️

The seventh lunar month is traditionally known as the annual “summer vacation” for spirits and ghosts, a time filled with awe and taboos.

In Buddhism, however, the seventh lunar month is interpreted quite differently—it is a month of peace and blessings, known as the “Month of Repaying Kindness,” “Month of Filial Piety,” or “Month to Honor Parents,” also called the “Month of Buddha’s Joy” or “Sangha Month.”
This month originates from the Ullambana Festival (Yulanpen Festival). According to the Ullambana Sutra, the Buddha’s disciple Maudgalyayana sought to rescue his mother from the suffering of hell. By making offerings to the monastic community, he transferred merit to free her from suffering. This story, widely known as “Maudgalyayana Saves His Mother,” inspired devotees to hold ceremonies in the seventh lunar month—such as offering food to monks, giving alms, and performing rituals—called Ullambana, to honor parents and dedicate merit to ancestors.

In short, the scary “July legends” widely circulated among the people may have been a way for our ancestors to remind us that bad deeds lead to bad outcomes. As long as one maintains kindness, practices good deeds, and treats life with respect, there is no need to worry.

Here are some common “Ghost Month Taboos” to help everyone pass the month safely without “bumping into” spirits:
