For us, it started by moving away from the city and into the mountains.
Whether it’s yoga or martial arts, we integrate diet, training, and lifestyle — with people who know why they’re here.

Some do handstands.
Some swing the mace.
Some just walk the mountain.
But the goal is the same: balance — physically and mentally.

Friday morning Qigong is a fun mountain community experience that explores breath and its connection to developing a strong body. We actually also get some city people who like the feeling of taking a break from the hustle and bustle of Big Taipei, even if it’s only for the morning. Many find it a good release after are hard week. Here’s to starting the weekend fresh with Yoga Martial.

Mentorship is an age-old concept, now overshadowed by the rise of the "Google Guru." With technology offering instant access to knowledge, we can learn almost anything at any time. But this gift comes with a cost—quality. In Chinese, this concept of quality is called “質量” (Zhi Liang), which literally means "material substance."

A true master possesses an abundance of deep, practical knowledge in their field, enabling them to guide the progress of their students, whether it's navigating the stock market, wielding a power tool, throwing a punch, or perfecting a yoga pose. In Zen, this relationship is the transmission of consciousness. Often, it takes nothing more than a glance from the master to reveal a subtle detail, sparking a profound shift that not only improves the craft but also transforms the student.

Mentorship embodies qualities such as loyalty, dedication, understanding, and respect—virtues that nurture and enlighten the body, mind, and spirit.

Competition is an illusion few can see through. Is it true there will be another human being trying to beat you? Yes that is true, on the other hand it is also true that every moment your mind is thinking about that other human being you are feeding them your attention. In a normal conflict this is actually a good thing, we focus on the fight to survive, it is perfectly designed response for something happening now, however when you have to wait for hours to fight this person all that attention to the issue will burn out the nervous system, and so we must practice anything that can prevent that from happening, breathe work, meditation, normal activity, monitoring one’s level of excitement, etc are key to reserving one’s fighting spirit for the fight itself. The mental game of fighting happens before the fight, it shouldn’t be overlooked, because it’s the difference from being a fighter and being a punching bag. Body consciousness is yoga, and only with that yoga can you stay out of your own way when competing.
