忠義堂大和武術館由黃大和先生創立，有三十多年歷史。黃大和出生基隆，後來才到淡水立館授徒。他的父親廖五常是知名國術老師，淡水地區的獅陣多由其父子教授，如保安獅、新興獅、金福獅等，三芝聖雲宮的獅陣也是。國術是黃大和家傳技藝，傳到他已是第四代，除了台灣獅和廣東獅外，他也自己製作獅頭。
