The Lantern Festival marks the grand finale of the Lunar New Year season in Taiwan. On the 15th day of the first lunar month, families step outside together to admire lanterns, enjoy festive foods, and make wishes for the year ahead.

In Taiwan, this festival has its own unique charm:

In Pingxi District, people write their hopes and prayers on sky lanterns and release them into the night sky. Each lantern carries a wish for health, success, and peace.

TIHTC was pleased to co-host and support the visit of 𝗚𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘃𝗮 𝗦𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗖𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗲 (𝗚𝗦𝗖) consultants — Ms. Maja Van Bruggen and Mr. Ryan Crowder — to Taipei Hospital, Ministry of Health and Welfare. They were accompanied by Former Minister Dr. Chiu Tai-Yuan and Dr. Ming-Nan Lin, Deputy Executive Director of the Hospital and Social Welfare Organizations Administration Commission, Ministry of Health and Welfare.

During the exchange, Taipei Hospital presented a diverse range of ESG practices and sustainability achievements, and TIHTC was honored to be part of the discussions:

Showcasing how used medical consumables — including syringes, sealing caps, and tubing — are repurposed into pens, massage balls, desk mats, and garbage bags.
🌱 𝗟𝗼𝘄-𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗯𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 & 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝘀
Featuring EV charging stations, green landscaping, PET bottle recycling machines, and other environmentally friendly facilities that support a low-carbon hospital ecosystem.

Visitors explored the Smart Nursing Station and Smart Pharmacy to see how digital innovations contribute to patient safety, workflow optimization, and higher-quality care.

Former Minister Dr. Chiu commended Taipei Hospital’s achievements in ESG and encouraged Taiwan’s healthcare institutions to continue embracing green, low-carbon, and smart hospital development.

The GSC consultants likewise expressed strong appreciation for the hospital’s efforts and looked forward to future collaboration.
