Non communicable diseases(NCDs)are one of the major health and development challenge of 21st Century in term of both the human suffering they cause and the harm they inflict on socioeconomic fabric of the countries particularly low and middle income countries including Tanzania.
An estimated 41 million deaths or 71% of all deaths that occurred globally in 2018 were due to non communicable diseases, comprising mainly cardiovascular diseases (17.9 million of non communicable diseases),cancer(9 millions), chronic respiratory diseases(3.9 millions),and Diabetes(1.6 millions)
These major noncommunicable diseases share four behaviors risk factors; to***co use, unhealthy diet, physical inactivity and harmful use of alcohol. Each year,15 million people die from a NCDs between the age of the age of 30 to 69 years and over 85 % of these NCDs deaths occurred in low and middle income countries.
Alban healthcare international Polyclinic in collaboration with has officially launched ongoing campaign of raising awareness and screening of noncommunicable diseases(NCDs) among people aged 30 to 80. This campaign will strengthen the prevention of NCDs and add up value to the Ministry of health to meet the global(WHO) target of reducing number of deaths due to NCDs by 25% by 2025
The second episode of the campaign was conducted on 5th to 7th of March 2021 at approximately 300 people from kisarawe town were screened and given health education on how they can modify their behaviors to prevent NCDs
